Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Baker, FNP-C.
Hi Marie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
The healthcare profession has always been called to me; even as a child, I was determined to have a career. In 2012, this passion for healthcare led me to medical aesthetics. I was fortunate enough to train as a Registered Nurse under a prestigious dermatologist in Arizona, where I learned how to provide injectable treatments with expertise and gained a complete understanding of dermatology and how to treat skin with various modalities safely. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with other medical professionals and provide injectables, laser resurfacing, and body contouring treatments. I then achieved my Master of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University. As a board-certified family nurse practitioner, I earned the authority and scope to diagnose diseases and prescribe medication, as required to be a medical director. Just three years ago, I invested in a practice of my own, DermaCrush Medical Aesthetics, where I currently provide non-invasive cosmetic dermatology services in Scottsdale. We have seen tremendous growth and success since our opening and continue to empower both men and women to feel and look their absolute best. At DermaCrush, we utilize therapeutic facial aesthetics, non-surgical facial and body enhancements, and medical-grade equipment to provide natural results that rejuvenate and enhance the skin. Some state-of-the-art equipment we offer at DermaCrush includes the Solta and Lumenis lasers, EmsculptNeo body contouring, medical grade facials, micro-needling, and fat-burning wellness injections including B12, MIC, and glutathione to promote optimal health to help patients with numerous conditions.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey to success was certainly challenging. I established DermaCrush without any financial support from a spouse or family members while supporting my, at the time, teenage son. Additionally, I had to master the legal aspects of properly and safely running a medical aesthetics business while also navigating a complex store buildout process. While this was all happening, I was also still seeing patients full-time!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about DermaCrush Medical Aesthetics?
DermaCrush is redefining the stereotype of women and men seeking a path to regain confidence and is defining the true nature of “medical grade” aesthetics with conservative yet effective patient plans. This is performed via one-on-one patient consultations with a collaborative approach utilizing tools such as injectables and laser technology for erasing the signs of aging on the face and body, facial rejuvenation to maintain a natural look that is a refreshed, understated appearance from Botox, Dysport, and dermal fillers.
DermaCrush’s top-tier medical aesthetic services are innovative in their conservatism; they are fresh, not fake, and keep both women and men looking natural rather than over the top. The company has remained firm on its mission of positivity and ethics in a competitive industry, always taking a cautious medical approach when applying treatments and following medical protocols and safety standards in a high-quality, private, confidential environment. DermaCrush continues to bring the true power of medical aesthetics to light by altering the misconception of cosmetic work appearing unnatural, frozen, expressionless, or “duck-lipped” by providing treatments in a metered fashion and giving clients custom-fit treatments based on their natural features. In turn, clients leave with the positive benefits of self-confidence and better well-being.
Through the company’s hefty investments in top-tier equipment, such as the new Emsculpt Neo, DermaCrush has provided innovative, medical-grade aesthetics. DermaCrush is one of Arizona’s only medical aesthetics businesses to provide the new Emsculpt Neo, the only non-invasive technology that simultaneously uses radiofrequency and HIFEM+ energies to eliminate fat and build muscle.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
People always need botox and filler! The rate of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures maintained and even surged from the pandemic as people engaged in virtual meetings such as Zoom, resulting in more self-conscious people. It’s important to make your patients feel safe and have a strong sanitation protocol. We operate in a medical setting, so health and safety are always top priorities.
