Hidden Gems: Meet Sean Steimer of The Steimer Team

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Steimer. 

Hi Sean, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a third-generation Realty Executive and third-generation Arizona native. I was born & raised in Scottsdale and still makes Scottsdale my home. Having been a realtor since 2014, I have tried to make a name for myself in the industry through hard work and market knowledge. I started out bartending nights and going to the office during the day. I prided myself on being first one in and last one out of the office, even on the days I struggled to go.

The Steimer Team (my dad, my sister and me) and I have won many awards for our sales numbers, but I also have personal accomplishments, such as 31 sales in 2020 for gross sales of just under $20,000.000. Last year the Steimer Team had over $50,000,000 in sales.

I also do design consulting for my clients and investors, and assist them with every level of renovations and remodels. I enjoy giving back to the community, but don’t always have the time to physically be somewhere, so I wrote a children’s book (Sean and Maui! Salesman and Sales Puppy) and donate all proceeds to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. If I do find some free time, I am an avid car enthusiast and attend as many car shows as possible. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My father helped me, but it was strictly a mentoring relationship when I started out. He “paid” me with experience and would have me tag along to all his appointments. I probably learned more riding around in his truck with him those first few years than I did in any class! I am extremely glad I had to earn where I am even though at the time it drove me crazy. We once sold a $2,800,000 home “together”, and I thought I was going to finally collect some commission. He let me know pretty quickly my commission was going to be the learning experience only, which included letting me come along and turn the lights on and off. It was quite the learning lesson, and I’ve never forgotten that he expected me to earn my own way, just as he did.

In the early years, I found that the biggest struggle was staying persistent and not quitting. It takes while to get started in real estate, but if you work hard and stay motivated it will change and you will see results.

We’ve been impressed with The Steimer Team, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are truly a family business, with my dad, sister and myself being the only team members. My mom works behind the scenes, so there’s a lot of “shop” talk when we get together! We also offer an unique type of marketing that has been proven to get more exposure for the client’s home. We are very hands-on, which enables us to create a personal relationship with our clients. Other teams who do our kind of sales numbers tend to have 15-30 Realtors on their team, which means a client could have to deal with a new person each time they need something. Our team currently has 45 years of combined experience as Arizona Realtors, and we are three generations strong as Realty Executives. We pride ourselves on always being able to help both buyers and sellers meet their real estate objectives. We have extensive knowledge of each of the communities located in the Phoenix Metro area, and will work tirelessly on our clients’ behalf to make their home buying/home selling experience a pleasant and successful one.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My mother and father, as well as ALL of my clients. My parents helped guide the way and gave insight that no schooling would have been ever able to provide. To me, there’s no better education than experience and I learned from one of the best in the business.

Then there’s my clients. Every single one of them who trusted me with either their first home or investment. To be able to help someone make the biggest purchase of their life, or land a deal for an investor that’s going to make them a great ROI gives me great joy & satisfaction. I cannot truly express how grateful I am for everyone who has given me the chance to prove how hard I am willing to work for them.
