Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Cordner.
Hi Daniela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! I’m Daniela Cordner. I live in Gilbert with my husband and two young girls. I was seven months into my second pregnancy when ‘The Balloon Mom’ idea was born. I spent endless nights researching how to make balloon art. After making an Instagram and booking my first few gigs, I became more and more excited about these creations. I always thought balloons were beautiful and added a great photo opportunity to events. This creative outlet gave me more than just a few extra bucks in my pocket. It gave me self-confidence, passion, and a new skill. Little did I know, seven months later I would be booking so many events. I’m excited to grow my business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say bumpy. There was definitely hesitation in even starting this business. You always wonder, “What will people think? Will they like my work? Am I priced correctly?” I had to turn down my inside voice so I can take a leap and just do it. Also, balancing time with this business, scheduling and two young kids has been an obstacle on its own.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I make small, medium, and large balloon installations for families, corporate events and other celebrations. I’m always learning new skill sets to better myself for my clients. The cool thing about balloons is each install is so different. I get excited when a client wants me to make something I’ve never made before, it’s a fun challenge. My favorite is when a client sends me pictures of my own work as their inspiration.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I really want to emphasize on the way this business has changed my outlook for the better. You have to just go for what you want. My main why is to be a good role model for my little girls and show them that you really can do anything you put your mind to.
