Today we’d like to introduce you to Shantasia Brabham.
Hi Shantasia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been working with the Rehoboth CDC since November 2019. I started as just a Support Staff Assistant being the first point of contact to now not only being the Support Staff Assistant but also a VITA Volunteer and taking over as the Social Media Advisor. I enjoy the many roles I have a part in working with RCDC.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
Not always, In the beginning, with it being my first time working for the RCDC, everything felt hectic. Everything felt like it was at a faster pace than what I was going. But of course, In the almost 3 years I have been working with RCDC, things have gotten easier. I have learned a lot in a little time, and everything is much smoother.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As the Support Staff Assistant, I am the first point of contact for those needing information ranging from VITA tax services to the Time Business Program that we will be starting shortly. My job consists of scheduling appointments and meetings and giving information about what Rehoboth CDC has to offer the community to help everyone keep striving and build a better community. Another role I have a part in is the Social Media Advisor. I am the person who keeps RCDC’s social media page updated with new information received as far as things are going with the community and classes and other events that RCDC is putting on for the community. I have to say I’m most proud of the positive feedback and interaction I receive when I’m helping fellow people in the community, showing them that we are here to help guide them in the right direction in what they need from RCDC.
Is something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Nothing comes to mind. I feel like I’m only growing more and more each day by learning about different materials and information to help the CDC grow and flourish.
