Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Vieau.
Hi Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My love for photography started long before I picked up a camera. As a child, I was a part of a competitive cheerleading team and a pageant contestant. Photography was a large part of both of those activities, and I think that’s where I started to love it as the subject. As I got older and started having children, they became the subject. I enjoyed dressing my children up and creating a special vibe for their photos. I eventually wondered if I’d enjoy doing the same for others. It turns out I do.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I started my business on a whim. And I only say that because I didn’t think I could be good enough at this for people to take me seriously, initially. As I’ve progressed in my business, the self-doubt has subsided a little but is never fully gone. But I still push and promote and provide the best work I can because I truly love what I do. And I think that’s pretty common for a lot of entrepreneurs.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I own my own photography business called Chasing Vieau’s photography. I haven’t niched down like so many people have told me I should, and I honestly don’t think I will any time soon. I enjoy photographing couples, maternity, children, families, professionals, etc. I haven’t found one particular category that I enjoy more than another. So, for the time being, I’m doing it all! I also book parties and events, which can be some of the most rewarding. It is a great feeling to step into someone’s event and take all the photos so they don’t have to and can enjoy the moment. I think what I’m most proud of with my business is just the growth. I started my business in early 2022 and have built something I am truly proud of. I love my work and truly enjoy every single one of my clients. Who wouldn’t love capturing moments people will look back on and remember for many years?!
What matters most to you?
The most important thing to me is that my clients leave each session excited about the art we created together. I want every single client to feel their best and that they chose the right person to capture that truly.
