Meet Yajaira Eve of Queen Creek

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yajaira Eve.

Yajaira, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up, it had always been my dream to model and make music, though the realist of society always told me that those were false dreams that never actually come true. And I believed it. Though there was still a part of me that didn’t want to let those dreams die, and I’m so glad I stuck to what my heart called out; during the summer of 2021, my interest in wanting to be a model peeked again and through Instagram, met the first photographer I ever worked with (@randrproductions). Through him, I got my first publication and, from there, continued to make connections. I enrolled myself in a modeling development program, C0rella, and Co, and only moved forward from there. From LA and Tempe Fashion week to features in music videos such as LoveSadKid, I’ve had many amazing opportunities and finally started my music career through the help of my now very good friend Kadeem Quick. Right now, I have two released singles, Dreams and Lover like me, found on all streaming sites under Yajaira Eve, with more music to come soon!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to modeling and music has honestly been all over the place; there have been moments where I was lucky and opportunities were given to me, though other moments where I had to work as hard as ever just to be noticed. My biggest struggle has always been, “what’s next? Where do I go from here?”. Sometimes taking one step forward later turns into two steps back because all the progress you make goes unseen. It’s a difficult path when you are the only person you have, but not impossible; what makes working in this industry smoother is the connections you make and the friendships you build. It is much easier for an artist to progress if you give the support you wish to receive.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am currently a freelance model making features in music videos to print work to runaway and hopefully commercial work here soon. In addition, I am a singer and songwriter, currently with an R&B pop sound, though looking to dive into other genres of music. Writing has always been a passion of mine since I was little, and in my free time, I love writing poems and life experiences that I hope can reach others and be what they need to hear. I am driven by self-expression and want to be the person to lead others to feel comfortable with their individuality, whether that be through my music, modeling, or any other form of art. I have finally gotten to a place where I feel truly, authentically myself, and I want to share this feeling with those around me.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is the people I meet and their voices. Everyone has something unique about themselves; my favorite thing as a person has always been learning other people’s stories. There was a period when I never felt heard and didn’t have a safe place to express who I am and what I love, and because of that, I have vowed to be the person that will allow others to share their stories and idea, emotions, etc.
