Meet Venessa Hoffman of Million Dollar Makeover Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Venessa Hoffman.

Venessa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started helping others such as strangers or even animals at a very young age. I started doing makeovers at age 7 in elementary school for girls that were either poor or bullied. So, let’s say I have always been an advocate for the less fortunate and underdog!

I have a huge passion to pay it forward especially with homelessness since I have lived it with my mother when I was 3 and then later in life as a teen and once with my son.

I have always had a dream to be someone and make it big so I can give back to Salvation Army, since they helped my mom and I have a nice Christmas and many holidays.

I wear my heart on my sleeve and no matter how many times I failed and should have given up. I never did not will I ever! I will die trying and will continue to help others no matter how many times I get burned. I don’t let the negativity get me down. I believe tomorrow is a new day & every situation brings me one day closer to my vision for Million Dollar Makeover Studio. Making beauty affordable for all.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My struggles have to do with bullying and stalkers since 2012, I have people who constantly harass me online and I chose to keep on going. I never give up! Some are my competitors and some are individuals from Groupon & Yelp (a few scam artists in CA & AZ) My goal someday to stop individuals from making fake profiles to write untrue reviews. My background is law & Psychology and I want to stop this from happening to other business owners. Also, I guess some people don’t like me because I love my faith and I am very vocal about my love for God.

Also, I can’t forget my health issues… Cervical Cancer at 18, 21, 25 And today. I don’t let nothing stop my happiness and love life. Even finding out my Son, myself, my mom and my grandma (RIP) all have Celiac Disease and is why I’m so big on organic & gluten free products in my salon.

Million Dollar Makeover Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My specialty is makeovers & recently teaching Microblading with my Academy. I have a way of seeing everyone’ s beauty and I bring it to life with Hair & Microblading. I love being creative. I grew up in Midwest and love to make everyone feel at home.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My mottos are: Believe, Receive & Achieve.

“If you’re the smartest person in the room than you need new friends” or Only spend your time with people who are more successful than you and you will learn how to achieve your dreams.

I have always encouraged and motivated others but I never had anyone help me, mentor me or push me. I guess this is why I love to help others, I love to see others grow & become successful. If you can’t help others become successful then what’s the point of My success!
