Meet Trailblazer Shanelle Kunz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanelle Kunz.

Shanelle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Sales and marketing have been a passion of mine for over a decade. From selling recreational oxygen to humans… winning cars in network marketing and having run successful door to door sales teams, I’ve been in the practice of breaking sales records and outselling my male counterparts for a third of my life! 😀

In 2016, I gave birth to my first baby and transitioned from door to door sales to online marketing to create leads for mine and my husband’s commission sales gig. Online lead generation has been a fun and rewarding shift in my sales career, especially since becoming a mama. The internet allows me to continue working my passions while keeping mama my top priority.

In 2016 not only did Jordan (my husband) and I welcome our baby girl into our lives but it was also the year we started investing in real estate. In 2016 we purchased out first real estate property, in 2017 we flipped 3 more properties and in 2018 we purchased and kept a property that we flipped from being a stinky – ugly two story home into a beautiful cozy Airbnb, right next to the Surprise baseball spring training stadium.

Now, I’m no Joanna Gaines, interior design is not my specialty but I do love networking and researching various resources to find our potential property investments. That’s super fun to me!

Jordan and I have our hands full but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Being busy parents to two young babies and having a busy entrepreneurial life, fills my heart and my spirit!

At the end of 2018, I started an Instagram documenting life as a Mompreneur and how an early morning ritual has been fundamental for my physical, emotional and mental health…After starting that page, I connected with some incredible women, including many women who were struggling with selling their products.

Women whose businesses were floundering and I felt a strong need to help them. So, I started sharing sales tips and my community loved it!

Because my community found value in it – I started a podcast to really delve deeper into my sales insights. The podcast is called Mama’s Side Hustle and it’s total passion project.  You can listen to it on iTunes, Spotify and Stitcher.

Hearing back from women who have used my techniques and insights to create real results in their businesses has been humbly and totally rewarding and I hope to continue to inspire and positively impact their lives with my podcast, blog and future sales trainings.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There will always be struggles. I used to think, “If this was meant to be it would be easy..” and as I have experienced a lot of success in my life, I think I could have experienced more, earlier on, had a I embraced the fact that all good things take time and work and we gotta struggle a bit to learn and grow. Good things don’t always come easy. Good, Quality things…even good quality relationships take work.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
My current focus is creating an effective sales program for women, while adding value weekly through my blog and podcast.

I am most proud of the fact that despite the many life/work plates I am spinning, my family is always my top priority. I arrange my life and schedule so that my family always knows, through my actions, that they are my #1’s.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Don’t quit. Be resourceful and keep at it. The ONLY WAY TO FAIL IS TO QUIT.
