Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Noble.
Rachel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a photographer who specializes in telling the stories of women, and couples. The adventurous ones… with bare feet, messy hair and fiery hearts. The free-spirited, who value beautifully authentic moments over the picture perfect. Those are my people. Even beyond the photographs, I long to encourage weary hearts as I share my struggles, inspiration, and thoughts along with visual images.
I started with my first business license in 2009 because I was asked to photograph a wedding. My photography style and business have been evolving ever since.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been a smooth journey. As creatives, I think it’s often hard to narrow down what we really want to pursue. I just wanted to frolic through wildflowers and create beautiful things wherever I went. A clear direction and purpose have been very important as I’ve really been able to understand the kind of creative work that sets my heart on fire.
My advice to other creatives is to narrow your focus and strive for the goal you have ahead. There’s no rule that says you’re locked into exactly that one thing forever, you will likely pivot a lot along the way… I certainly have. Don’t let indecision hold you back.
We’d love to hear more about The Naked Gypsy Photography.
I believe that women should be reminded of how mysterious and captivating they are because we are all secretly battling the lies we have believed about our bodies and just our value as people. It’s such a rewarding experience to see a woman fall in love with herself again after seeing truly flattering photos of herself.
I’m also passionate about reminding couples to document and celebrate their love, beyond just the wedding day. What a wonderful gift to leave to your children and grandchildren one day… stunning images that reflect the adventure, love, and commitment you shared together – even through the ups and downs life brought your way.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Comparison is truly a thief of all of the momentum and excitement you may have for a new career. Keep pushing yourself and setting personal goals rather than judging yourself against another person’s highlight real. You’ve got this!
