Today we’d like to introduce you to Beverly Crupi.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have taught group fitness for over 30 years. Working for the USAF, teaching at the base and working with Service men and woman and their dependents change the course of my life. I learned the value of team and community. In 2001 I decided to run my second marathon. I asked my spin class if anyone would like to join me. We started with three and it has grown to over 300 hundred. Our mission is to provide a supportive and motivating environment for athletes to train and compete together, Since I taught spin class and road outside it was natural that I encourage spinner to get bikes, I was doing MS150 I trained indoor cyclist to ride, racing came next. I added biking to the club, then trail running than swimming then triathlons. As a group of like-minded, active, Heathy people, LSRBT has proven to be a great network for meeting training partners and building camaraderie and lasting friendships… Network for athletes of all ages and fitness levels joining together in North East Mesa.
Has it been a smooth road?
Running and doing triathlon has given me the confidence to open my own business when most people are thinking of retirement. The Beverly Salon opened almost three years ago, four months after I opened, I was broken into and rob of everything! The robbers even took my hair color bowls. I did not read the small print of my insurance which said I was covered for “Damaged do loss”, not contents… $16,000. Lost. This was on a Friday. Monday is Las Sendas run bike tri club track day. At the track, the members presented me with over a $1000.! Community is what I wanted to build when I started this group but I had no idea that it would extend the way it did. I had one member come and paint my place. I had another come in with supplies to help keep my business going until I could purchase new tools.
We’d love to hear more about Las Sendas Run Bike Tri Club and The Beverly Salon.
I have two workplaces, I wake up six days a week and I meet either one of the fitness classes that I teach an indoor spin class or muscle strengthen class or Running, Swimming, or biking buddies. I then change hats and work in my salon The Beverly Salon. I specialize in color and haircuts however I love to connect people with others of like interest. In the salon or in the Las Sendas RBTC I love to introduce people to each other.
