Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Ann Stockton.
Beth Ann, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started Pinkys Got Purses in 2012. From the time I was a little girl, I loved purses and handbags. I have always had a passion for starting my own business. I am a hard worker and have lots of energy. So, I started Pinkys Got Purses. I built my own website and grew my business from the ground up. From 2012 to today, I have done so much. I’ve been on several new stations and been interviewed for my business. I started a yearly event where I gather women that own their own businesses, we come together for a huge annual market. Over 50 vendors, K-Love Radio Station sponsored it and Wildlife World Zoo did as well. The community came out and for the last two years in a row, the event was amazing. From this, I started the BWOG businesswomen of God networking group. I’m currently working on a website and growing the group. Through all this, with Pinkys Got Purses I have done so many events and ladies love my products. I am also a writer. I started writing when I was 15 years old over 25 years of writing. I have written several books that are on Amazon and on my second website fearlessenterprise.com I have been traveling around Arizona and in Colorado speaking writing and selling all my products from Pinkys Got Purses. My twin sister has been my inspiration. She was born blind and mentally and physically handicap.
I love being an entrepreneur. I love selling all of my purses and hats and cute tops, I love writing and speaking and encouraging women to know their purpose and to live fearlessly. I have a saying Unless You Are Fearless Nothing Will Change.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting and Running your own business is never an easy road. You have to be patient and diligent in your business. Work hard every day and never give up. Believing in yourself is so important. Knowing it takes time and if you really want something, the key is patience, believe in what you are selling or promoting. And know on the bad days, you have to keep going because tomorrow will be better.
We’d love to hear more about Pinkys Got Purses.
I sell purses, hats, clothes and more. I write books and speak throughout my community and state and out of state. I am known for my smile and my positive attitude. I love encouraging people and speaking to teens about self-esteem and believing in themselves. I love encouraging women to overcome fear and live their purpose. I am most proud of being a mom and wife. But I am also very proud of the books I have written and how they help people. I also am proud that my products from Pinkys Got Purses really brings smiles to ladies faces. I am set apart from others because my story is different and I bring a sense of fun with Pinkys Got Purses and encouraging with my books and come together with both.
Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
My biggest advice is if you’re not talking about your business, not promoting your business, if you don’t believe in your business, then your business will go nowhere. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there on social media, in your community, in other people and other businesses, don’t be afraid. For me, putting myself out there is been the biggest positive to growing both of my companies not being afraid to put myself out there and talk to people and plant seeds and watch them grow.
