Meet Teia Acker of GETNOTICED! The Podcast in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teia Acker.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started podcasting after being introduced to by my younger brother Avery. He mentioned this new concept and while I was hesitant at first, I became intrigued and begin the journey millions of others have tapped into. From the onset to now being featured on 21 listings, I used my platform of business and entrepreneurship to highlight primitive ways to grow business and remain competitive while addressing real-life issues and growing pains of being a leader or business owner.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a challenge. Developing a niche and identifying my target audience was the true test of courage. While I was sure of what I wanted to talk about and who I wanted to talk to, I struggled with where (as it relates to what city). Podcasting opens a world of influence and opens doors to those who desire to influence. I wanted to ensure I had listeners as the platform was already established.

I also faced the “what are you doing now” critiques. While there are many, who want to see you do well. There are many others who make you feel as though you do too much. I did not want to undercut those who needed my support to continue their dreams. However, I did not want to become a nuisance to those who were currently supporting or those who would become overwhelmed by quest to be great.

I eventually got over that though…. (inserts laugh).

Please tell us about GETNOTICED! The Podcast.
My podcast is GETNOTICED! I specialize in discussing the needs of business and all that it encompasses. My focus is on leadership, entrepreneurship and helping others climb the corporate ladder.

I am proud of the influence the podcast has generated. I am proud of the people I have inspired to begin podcasting. I am proud to have had the opportunity to work with Microsoft and Google Start-up Grind. I am most proud of the support I have received from platforms such as IHeartRadio, Tidal, Spotify, Itunes, and Amazon.

What sets me apart is my transparency and core understanding of what it takes to be great as well as lucrative in business. I share the positive and negative as well as my successes and failures in hopes that my listeners can grow from my success and learn from my failures— thus avoiding the same misfortunes.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my podcast initiating a platform for talk shows and conferences. I see a major shift in how people respond to podcasting and its influence on growing businesses. I see podcasting growing tremendously and becoming the new norm for radio. I hope to secure more opportunities with Google Start-up Grind, Microsoft and SCAD.
