Meet Rosalinda Gonzales Juarez of Creations By Rosie in Tucson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosalinda Gonzales Juarez.

Rosalinda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It started back in 2017 when my husband surprisingly bought me a Cricut crafting machine and simply said: “Here, now do something with it.” He has always believed in me. Even though my roughest time when I wanted to just give it all up, he kept pushing me.

I enjoy making people happy. So, what is a better way to do that than making something from the heart? I was personalizing gifts for friends and family until people started seeing my art and wanted to order from me. Growing up with depression and anxiety, I was too scared to come out of my shell. Eventually, I overcame that problem and took that big step into the business world. Ever since then, I never looked back.

Because of my entrepreneurial mind, my business has grown triple over the past two years. Going on three in February and I still love seeing my clients’ reactions when they receive their order. I am grateful for this talent and passion for personalization.

Has it been a smooth road?
At first, it was very rough. Starting a business is not what most think. You don’t make money overnight and your “me” time is very limited. It’s a sacrifice and you have to invest so much time, effort and money into it. If you don’t, you are never going to get to where you want to be.

Mark Cuban is my all-time favorite business idol. I listened to one of his podcasts about how getting a loan for your business is not the smartest idea. Because of his accomplishments, I went with his advice and used my funds for everything I needed. It was very difficult as I was behind on bills and I had to sell some of my stuff to cover most of them. Eventually, though, things started coming back together. This year, honestly, has been the most successful one YET! My business paid for my husband’s birthday trip this year, most of my new equipment, and for a wedding seminar in Salt Lake City! Overall, it was worth the sacrifice.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I own a personalization business, CBR. We specialize in laser cut, vinyl, engraving, etching, heat transfer vinyl, and now sublimation. We offer favors, gifts and more for weddings, anniversary parties, etc. Simply, I am the gal that decorates the cute wine glasses with sayings or names. That would be my clients’ favorite product next to our laser cut wooden name signs. I originally started in the wedding industry. Because of my clients’ different ideas, I came out of it for a while. At this time though, I am heading back into the wedding industry but with a BANG! Keep an eye on that!

I am proud of the outcome. I never thought it was going to grow this big, I originally started it as just a side gig until I finish school. To see what I created, it feels great and I have gained so much confidence to where I want to continue growing!

What sets me apart from others is my unique mind. There will be times where there will be some projects that are popular and clients place orders for them. But what I offer though is their input when they are unsure of something. Pinterest does help us with ideas, but the client and I take a lot out and add our creations to it. Not many crafters ask for a specific font or a color. They just assume the client wants the order exactly like the picture they send. When I say I am a Personalized Designer, I take personalization serious and open.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I admire about our city is the art and culture we are surrounded by. We are so strong when it comes to love and support for our local artists and business. We encourage each other and empower one another. Many outsiders see Tucson as a small city but we have so much to offer.
