Meet Richardson Donnat of Tax-Indeed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Richardson Donnat.

Hi Richardson, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
About 6 years ago I was working for a company as a tax preparer. I had begin to fall in love with what I was doing and I understood that I was really in the business of helping people. However, I felt that the company’s mission didn’t no coincide with mine. I then went on a mission to start my own practice I saved every bit of money and without getting a loan I was able to start my own company. Prior to opening an office I was working out of my apartment and I had a good amount of loyal clients that trusted and allowed to work for them in filing their tax return. Opening the office was a major accomplishment for me, and I have maintain the mission to help others and because of that every year I have been able to increase the number of clienteles.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it hasn’t been a smooth road, as a sole proprietor I have to wear different hats. Making sure I develop a structure that can help me grow the business has been a struggle specially in the beginning. From runnings ads, to customer experience, custodial as well as administrative work. A lot of times things get overwhelmed.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
In my line of work too often we find seasonal preparers or pop up shop people that are there temporarily for tax season but are no where to be found afterwards. At tax indeed we pride ourself in being there for our clients throughout the entire year. We focus on affordability while provide exceptional services. We specialize in individual tax return and well small businesses.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t necessarily believe in luck but rather blessings. I would say the fact that my team is able to provide great services, provide a local brick and motor where our clients can feel safe to come to has been a major blessing.
