, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was in sales for a blueprinting company in 1992 when I heard a radio ad for bartending school. I happen to be on the corner of the school and decided to pull in and speak to the owner. I ended up taking the 2-week course and becoming a certified bartender. I decided I didn’t want o work late into the evening so did a little research and found 2 bartending services already in business. January 1st of 1992, myself and 2 friends started Pour Masters Bar Services. By the end of the month, with no sales, both partners left.
I decided to move forward and in the 1st year, we grew 1700%. 25 years later, we have become one of the most respected bartending services in Arizona,
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When 911 happened. 75% of our events canceled. It put many companies out of business but we had some amazing clients that kept us busy enough to sustain it. It was a very scary time.

Pour Masters supplies the bartenders, mixers, and alcohol for corporate, private, festivals and weddings. We are very honored to be the bartending service for The Desert Botanical Garden, Old Main at ASU, The Legacy Ballroom, Chandler Center for the Arts, the Arizona Science Center, caterers, PR firms, advertising agencies and many corporate & personal parties.
Pour Masters averages 40 – 100 events a week and have done some unique parties. A gentleman had a party for his cat. We have bartended a divorce party, a hat party where that is all they wore and a wedding where nobody showed up for the reception.
Pour Masters is very proud of the systems we have in place to ensure your event is perfect, your bartender has a personality and everyone is kept safe.
Today we have fun serving others. We have a monthly free event at our office with an open bar, catered food, entertainment and themed to keep the social media constantly in front of our friends and clients.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Well, we started without the internet so we would have designed a better system for booking events. Using 3×5 cards was not the brightest move sometimes.
