Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Glover.
Patricia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I entered the legal field about 15 years ago through a friend who asked me to fill a legal receptionist position at her office. Although I had no prior desire to work in the legal field, I quickly fell in love with it. When I moved to Arizona in 2007, I used the receptionist experience to land a job as a legal assistant at a prestigious bankruptcy firm. While working there, I began my college education in legal studies. Once the economy recovered from the recession and less people were filing bankruptcy, I transitioned to a paralegal position at a firm that specialized in personal injury, criminal defense, and family law. I then transferred to a national law firm where I worked in the litigation department.
I learned early on that quality legal services are difficult to come by for people with limited financial means. The attorneys who have mentored me over the past 1-and-a-half decades have charged clients anywhere from $300 to $500 per hour. That is just not a realistic expectation for someone who earns anything below an average income. People should not have to choose between paying for food and shelter or paying for legal expenses. That is why I created Glover Court Solutions & Estate Planning. We are a new kind of legal practice (non-attorney) in a challenging and constantly evolving field, where we help our clients overcome their most complex legal issues. We pride ourselves on being able to provide top-notch legal services at a fraction of the price you would expect to pay an attorney. We are licensed by the Arizona Supreme Court to prepare legal documents without the supervision of attorneys, allowing us to reduce legal fees significantly.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I come from a troubled childhood. After suffering years of medical abuse, I left home at 16 with a baby. The world is not kind to young mothers. Finding affordable housing and employment at 16 with a baby in tow was no easy feat. But we overcame. I think that learning to overcome challenges at a young age is what created a foundation for becoming a successful business owner. When you have no one but yourself to fall back on, the only option is to succeed.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Looking back, the only thing I would have done differently is I would have taken the leap of faith sooner to launch my own business. I spent too many years doubting my own capabilities.
