Meet Olivia Nowak of Olivia’s Balloon Creations in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Nowak.

Olivia, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My first job at the age of 15 was working at a party store in Chicago. This is where I discovered I had a gift and talent in creativity. When I turned 18, I applied for a business license and have been transforming settings into Magical and Memorable events with beautiful balloon creations. It gives me great joy to make people happy and have brides (or their mom) tell me that my balloon set up was their little girl’s dream come true. I love that my balloons creations bring joy to people and put smiles on faces.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As with most businesses, there has been a good time, great time and slow times. Twenty years ago, we didn’t have social media to help promote our craft or actually display all that can be made. Back then, it was more work in getting your business in front of people by meeting with clients with our big portfolio where they’d have to flip the pages and pick. Clients would find us by seeing our work at another event and then wanting something similar for their event. Many times I couldn’t explain what was in my creative mind (for their event), so I had to sketch ideas to give clients a vision of what I was trying to suggest for their event. Fast forward to current times, the internet and social media have been an amazing and efficient tool in helping spread the word on the beauty of Balloon Art/Creations. People today are all about photo inspirations and want that design reproduced.

There has also been a big move from Chicago to Scottsdale. We closed down our services in Chicago in 2008, had a little bit of a break to explore our new home and study the market here. When we launched, we were in full force any its been great. Summer months are pretty quite, which I don’t mind as it allows me the break from the hectic season and the ability to travel.

Olivia’s Balloon Creations – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a unique balloon decorating service delivering memories in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Specializing in custom yet affordable balloon decor, Olivia’s Balloon Creations brings an array of various artistic elements together for our client’s event, whether its a wedding, birthday, corporate or other themed gatherings to create lasting impressions and awe-inspiring displays of creativity and zeal. We work with our customers on an individual basis to create a customized arrangement, meeting budgetary and visionary expectations. Our client’s satisfaction and our reliable and professional services are guaranteed.

What sets us apart is our pricing, our overhead is low since we don’t have a storefront. We go to our client and set up on-site, thus allowing us to be able to save them money. We are also very prompt to respond to clients so their email/text/inquiry isn’t sitting in our in-box. Our clients are our #1, we make it our top priority to treat them as such, respecting their valuable time and responding immediately.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me, is if we met our client’s vision and expectations. At the end of the day, was our client happy with the design, and how big was their smile and excitement?
