Hi Mo, so great to have you join us again. For folks who might have missed our earlier conversations, can you please take a minute to briefly introduce yourself?
Everyone calls me Mo, or Mo the Baeker or Momo. I’ll respond to pretty much everything, ha! I have been baking allergy conscious treats for a little over 7 years. I love being able to provide desserts for the sugar-cravers rather they are on a diet, or have restrictions or just need a fix. We provide it all for all 🙂 Our guests are loyal and are beyond supportive of the bakery and I(switch to “we”) could not thank them enough. We are a black, woman,(female) lbgbtq+/owned business and we except(accept) and love all walks of life. We just want to make the world sweet again 🙂
How did you survive covid-19?
The bakery is technically an online based bakery and we provide delivery only. During the pandemic this was very important to our community since leaving the house was not really an option. We created and delivered Weekend Brunch Bundles which included: quiche and rose/champagne or our CinnRolls with rose/champagne. Our clients loved this as a way to enjoy share brunch safely in their homes. We also provided the Homie Cakes! They are 4in round cakes perfect for 2-3 guests which is/was perfect for those that had to celebrate their birthdays at home.
How did Bear and the Honey get to where you are now?
Lots of trial and error and lets not forget the blood, sweat and tears! We started making gluten free pies for Thanksgiving about 7 years ago and sales went wild. So we decided to add additional allergy-conscious desserts such as: Vegan Cinnrolls, Vegan Donuts, Gluten Free Cookies and Cakes and the infamous Zona Tart. We then realized a wide majority of our community was in need of both vegan and gluten free products as well as Keto baked goods. So, we got to work with countless recipes, endless trial and errors and finally have found our groove. We now can provide most if not all of our products and flavors how you need them! Paleo, keto, vegan, vegan and gluten free, gluten free, and dairy free. Our next steps are to build a kitchen centrally and giving anyone and our regulars the opportunity to invest and support small business in Phoenix
How are you different from other bakeries in town?
We are very differently from other bakeries because not only do we provide traditional and classic desserts we can also make your favorite nostalgic goodies allergy-conscious. In addition, weddings and celebrations are always fun and we love to create dessert tables with unique wedding/classic cakes. We also provide 48 hour delivery for most custom orders valley wide.
Where can folks find you?
We are currently in the process of creating the kitchen of our dreams in central Phoenix. We for right now are in a private kitchen and deliver sweetness Wednesday-Saturday 8am-3pm.

Our customers rave about our Homie Cakes, Vegan CinnRolls, Vegan CinnRoll Cakes, and Vegan Donuts(Strawberry Almond).
