Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Logan.
Hi Mia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am YourNailsAfterDark ! Majority of my days I do nails after normal business hours for the working person looking to get their nails done after they get off and I’ve been doing nails for almost 4 years. Arizona for 3 and the other year which began in Detroit, Michigan. I went to Michigan for my eldest daughter and while I was there I decided to go to school for nails, leaving behind my 2 youngest daughters with their father which was the hardest thing I could ever do.
Once my eldest graduated high school which was 2 and a half years later, I then returned back to Arizona as promised to be with my daughters again, not realizing that I couldn’t let go of my passion for nails. I brought my girls back together which was a fight but I would never live without them. I began my Journey as an entrepreneur in the nail industry and I had no idea what to do or where to go. I didn’t stop and I soon became an ambassador for Valentino Beauty Pure which is one of the biggest nail brands in the industry and I have also been featured as 1 of Arizona’s top 30 nail techs. As an honor, I was also featured on BlackGirlsDoNails & NailCon.
Everything being simply a dream. My goal has always been to show people that, wearing your crown differently is beautiful and it’s always an honor for me to cross their paths. I do my best to “Treat people like royalty to gain their loyalty”. It’s my mission statement and I live by it! Be it clients may return to me or not, they’ll always be able to leave knowing the experience with me is unlike any other and are always welcomed. When you walk through my door… You matter, your family matters as well as your health! Never being in a rush to complete a service and educating all my clients of how they should be treated. I absolutely love what I do so I’m finishing school as a Master Nail Educator so I can train and show others that beauty without pain along with customer service in our industry does matter!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road especially when I had to leave my daughters. That’s a whole story in it itself. I had to deal with working with others that were in opposition to me. I was afraid to be on my own and didn’t know where I was going to go or what I was going to do! I never dreamt of working on my own or becoming an entrepreneur because I was so use to being a homemaker and working in customer service. I’ve been a mother since I was 15 but my faith has gotten me this far!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a nail manicurist (Nail Tech), I do nails and I specialize in working late, late nights and educating my clientele, I’m known for the experience I give to others and doing different styles of nails from, square, almond, coffin, duck, etc… I’m am proud of the support I get from my children and that they have come to understand why mommy had to leave to protect our family! My underlying story set’s me apart and the choice I make to educate and love everyone treating them like a person apart of my family.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Omgness every person I’ve ever come in contact with be it negative or positive deserves credit. Most of all Jehovah God deserves all the credit. From my family, clientele, social media followers or a person walking on the street or filling up their car with gas. I say that because I put in the work to gain my clientele everywhere I go I market/promote myself. MOST OF ALL MY CHILDREN BECAUSE THE SACRIFICE HAS BEEN GREAT & MY HUSBAND now that I’m newly married. They support every move I make and keep me going
