Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Baniewicz.
Maria, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
All my life I’ve been into creating a company of some sort; I’ve always had the spirit of an entrepreneur.
Back when living in Miami, I had a cleaning services company that I owned. After meeting my husband, I moved to Phoenix and I had to begin from zero. I began to work for an energy drink company, but couldn’t get off my mind the idea of creating my own thing here in Phoenix.
I asked my husband what he would be doing if he weren’t doing his actual job and he said he always wanted to own a screen printing store.
For some reason, printing shirts was something that he felt drawn to.
After he told me that, I couldn’t stop thinking about it and I began to do a bunch of research on the subject. I got excited; the whole thing looked like a lot of fun! At the time, my older son began playing baseball and we started to go to his games. I thought that making shirts for the family members to show support to their player would be a great idea and a good way to start making some extra money.
The idea grew on me very strongly, so I went ahead and purchased a heat press machine. I got into courses, tutorials and everything I needed to being this process. My husband joined the team and this is how we began our family business from our home back in 2009. We both still had our normal jobs, so we would come home after our shift and work on our printing projects. We began promoting our products, specially at my son’s baseball games, and slowly but surely, orders started to come in!
Time passed and we started to receive more & more orders. Then I became pregnant with my second son and that’s when I decided that it was time to quit my job and dedicate myself to my newborn and my family business.
Ever since, our company has continued to grow. We invested in new machines, we begun to do embroidery and then we just didn’t have space and enough hands to meet the demand. We knew the time had come: It was time for us to move our business from our home. We needed our own space.
We opened our store in 2015. We were three people working back then. Now our personnel have expanded. We are now a team 0f 8 and we continue to grow! We have also expanded our services and we do more than just heat press on shirts. We do embroidery, DTG, screen printing, promotional products and design requests in general. We now also work on different apparel items, not just shirts. We work with everything!
We are 100% dedicated to our business and we strive to provide the best service we can give! We care for what we do and our customer satisfaction is our number one priority.
We love what we do & we are excited to see were the future will take us.
Has it been a smooth road?
I think every business has struggles of some sort. However, our road has been relatively smooth. We’ve had a lot of support from our family and friends, our vision has been clear, and we have been able to sort out every challenge presented on our way. We see difficult moments as opportunities to grow! I think having this mindset is what makes the road easier to navigate.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a company dedicated to the decoration of apparel through different methods. We do screen printing, direct to garment printing, vinyl/glitter transfer, embroidery, rhinestones, design & we also customize promotional products.
What set us apart from the competition, is our exceptional customer service. We have tremendous appreciation for our customers and we understand that, without them, our business would not be possible. It is as simple as that. This is why our energy is mainly focused on meeting the client’s needs in every possible way. We try to deliver things in a timely manner, while still providing a good quality product.
We work on their designs and their general needs until they are completely satisfied.
We don’t see our business in a simplistic way: We don’t “just print clothing items”. We also create! We envision our client’s idea, we translate that into a graphic and then we proceed with the printing and decoration process. We could say that printing is just a small portion of the entire picture. We really do take pride in what we do.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Phoenix is a major city! The demand is high, the opportunities are endless. No doubt about that!
