Meet Larisa Kaiser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Larisa Kaiser.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I bought my first camera back in 2008 for a family vacation we were taking in Europe. I was only 14 at the time and with that little camera I suddenly became fascinated with the details of everything. Although it wasn’t until I bought my first professional camera my freshman year of high school when I became more serious about photography. I gave myself personal projects to photograph and I got a really positive response on social media. People from school I didn’t even know were asking me to take photos of them and even their senior pictures. I then found a love for portraiture in my very new photography journey. I have since shot hundreds of sessions and weddings and I’m so blessed by the fact that I’m living my teenage dream.

Please tell us about your art.
I don’t simply photograph people; I capture the raw emotion and feelings that are difficult to put into words. My goal is for my photos to tell a story, your story, and everyone’s is different. I love that. I want my photos to be more than just photos — whether it’s a family or wedding day — I want my clients to be able to relive those moments.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Struggling financially as a photographer is definitely not uncommon, but if it’s important to you, you will find a way. I know that may be vague, but it’s true. Investing in yourself and your work comes with a great reward and I promise you that it’s something you won’t regret. If you’re unable to do that right now, that’s okay. Be content with where you’re at in your journey. Work with what you have and continue to grow yourself. You may not be where you want to be overnight, but you’ll get there just like I did.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
