Meet Jordan Odle of Transcend Wellness Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Odle.

Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I love getting asked this because my story is why I do what I do! I am a sports neurology chiropractor with a heavy focus on functional nutrition. My practice is Transcend Wellness Chiropractic, located in Phoenix, Arizona. My practice has two parts: the chiropractic neurology side and the nutrition side.

Chiropractic neurology allows me to help people remove the underlying threats in their system that are causing their pain or ailments by focusing on how the brain connects with the rest of their body. This includes hands-on work and exercises that always have a neurology spin to them, as the brain controls our entire system.

Functional nutrition allows me to help people with many issues with their gut health, energy, brain health, and autoimmune issues. This information ultimately helps me the most in figuring out why this person is having ailments or pain. No matter who comes through my door, I want to see that person as a whole, so what has happened physically, chemically, and emotionally/spiritually since birth.

I began treating myself the way I do because of my personal experiences with my health up to this point. I grew up with terrible stomach pain after every meal that would cause me to double over in pain for hours. My mom took me to see multiple GI specialists and doctors when I was young, and they tried to tell me I had Chrons disease, Irritable bowel disease, and all sorts of other things, but they never had a solution. Eventually, at age 12 my mom took me to see a Naturopath who did food testing on me. He found I had a wheat and dairy intolerance. Once I took these out of my diet, my stomach pain disappeared, but I would return if I had these things again. Fast forward to age 22, I am in chiropractic school, and my wife starts getting very ill. I took her to a chiropractor who did functional medicine work, and he began treating her with food and herbs, and she began to get better. I figured I should see him because no one had fully helped me with my stomach issues. He found I had Candida, Parasites, H. Pylori, and Adrenal Fatigue. He put me on protocols, and after 6 months, I had pooped out a 2-foot-long tapeworm and multiple other parasites! I was a believer at this point. A little hard not to be with the evidence I was seeing. But about 3 months after that, I could go back to eating wheat and dairy and not have a single GI upset, my energy went up 10 fold, and my ability to memorize in school went up dramatically. At this point, I knew I needed to learn his work so I could help people the way he helped me. He changed mine and my wife’s lives forever. Now I get to help people in this way.

As for the neurology side, I got into that because I had struggled with many injuries growing up being an athlete. And when in chiropractic school, I was at the height of my Crossfit and Olympic Lifting competition and struggled with an ongoing lower back injury and other injuries. I constantly sought out more specialty doctors who thought about health outside the box. These doctors were helping me recover from my injuries so I could continue competing. As I found these doctors who helped me, I started learning the techniques they did, and they pushed me more and more toward the neurology work. The chiropractic neurology work not only allowed me to become pain-free but improved my performance significantly.

Overall, my experiences and knowledge led me to open my practice in September 2020. I typically treat people looking for answers to unsolved problems, unresolved pain, and those with performance goals. My goal with my work is to help people achieve a joy-filled life, which usually starts with health in every aspect of their lives. Physical fitness, Chemical health, and Emotional/Spiritual health.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have struggled with starting a business from scratch and on my own. My background has only been in the health and the human body, not a business. So learning how to start and run a business has led me to some teary nights but also A LOT of growth! Although it hasn’t been easy, I have learned so much and continue to learn, so I honestly wouldn’t change any of it. There is also learning and growth that happens as a practitioner and helping patients recover from chronic issues. That road is seldom linear but rewarding when the result is a happier, healthier person.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Transcend Wellness Chiropractic?
I am a Chiropractor with a focus on neurology and functional nutrition. Many of my patients are health-driven and want to have active lives, pain-free and filled with joy. I often help patients overcome chronic issues they have had for a long time. This is usually chronic pain or other internal ailments like gut health issues.

What sets me apart is probably, how I view the human body and the causative drivers of a person’s problem(s). I believe who we are and what we are dealing with now is an accumulation of what has gone on with us physically, chemically, and emotionally/spiritually since birth. Physical experiences are things like injuries but can also include physical abuse we have experienced. Chemical experiences include things like the foods we eat, the environment we live in, our hormones, etc. And emotional/spiritual experiences include the hardships we have been through. When addressing chronic issues, the problems are usually a mix of all three factors, physical, chemical, and emotional. And all factors typically need to be addressed in the healing process.

I am proud of my brand for always treating people with love, kindness, and compassion. Transcend Wellness Chiropractic recognizes that we are all individuals, are not cookie-cutters, and often need different things to heal. So the experience with Transcend is completely individualized and holistic in its approach.

People should know I do free 15-minute consults. I do this because I want to hear about what people have going on and make sure they are a good candidate for how I treat them so we can move forward with their healing, or I can point them in a direction I think would be more helpful for them at that time.

What do you think about happiness?
Lots of things make me happy! But what drives most of my joy in life is spending time with loved ones, my wife, family, friends, and my animals. We have 2 French bulldogs, Kona and Billie. They are the best; you look at them and are instantly happy. Other things that bring me joy involve the life experiences we all get to have, being in nature, active, and meeting and connecting with new people. I say time with loved ones is #1 because the love I feel from those around me fills me up. Life experience is #2 because life is weirdly awesome, and we can choose the reality we live in.
