Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Pogrant.
Jill, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I worked in corporate America for 20 years. I decided to go out on my own and run the business through my home. However, I didn’t want to meet people in my home or go to theirs. Starbucks was too loud and the library was too quiet. I met my current business partner, Shelley Bade, at a networking event she was sponsoring. With an extensive real estate/development background, I thought I would run my idea on her. “Wouldn’t it be great to have a professional place to meet clients by the hours?” She mentioned it would be a twist to the current executive suites model. We were both very passionate about growing small business and what a better way to do so. We opened our first location in December of 2009. We currently have 4 locations and are going strong.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We definitely learned what didn’t work the first few years. We funneled our focus into certain specialties that would really help the new and/or growing business market. After weeding out programs and adding new ones our destination was layed out.
