Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Euler.
Jason, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I attended Mad Decent Block Party in 2016 reluctantly not knowing what to expect. Dance Music was never a taste of mine and I had never been to a festival with only that style of music. Two days later after having the time of my life I looked at my phone screen and realized I had a $70 uber charge on my phone. The trip from Rawhide to Tempe during Surge Pricing wasn’t gentle to a young Millennial like myself. Fast forward two months and global 2016 is approaching. Deciding to go last minute I decide to solve my biggest issue from my first experience. Transportation. At the age of 19 I would run Party Buses from Tempe to what was then known as Axis Radius Night Club which hosted their Twist Thursdays an all 18+ night. One of the few of its kind in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. For $20 you could have all the Redbull you wanted and a round trip to and from Old Town having a blast with sub woofers and music blasting on the mobile party bus.
Back to Global, I decide to take my experience from 5 years ago and apply it to my problem a week before the Festival. 3 days later and 65 venmo transactions later I had an over capacity Bus rolling blasting Dubstep on the way to my 2nd Festival.
Global 2016 is the night I realized I wanted to work in this industry and establish a brand. My first business move. Scale the Party Buses. My 2nd move, find people who have talents that I don’t have. Good hearted people. My 3rd move find a “why” behind what I’m doing. The “why” was to take a beautiful platform surrounded by good people and use it to give back and cause real change in our world. Thus we founded on the basis of giving back. Not just our monetary funds which we donate from every event we do but through our time which is donating our most precious asset that anyone can give.
Almost a year later we have announced our first EDM (Electronic Dance Music) show at Shady Park Tempe with Two Owls headlining. Two owls have recently just played two major festivals in Southern California, Nocturnal and Escape, and are quickly on the rise. Within one year we went from running party buses to scaling our brand from working with many locations in old town and Tempe while drawing crowds with us to events our events our team hosts. You always know you have good people to party with when you’re with OCTIV.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been anything but a smooth road but the best part is I haven’t had to go the road alone. I have been Fortunate enough to be surrounded by some of the best people. We are building OCTIV together between 14 Individuals. We all come from different backgrounds and have our different struggles. Our Team is more of a brotherhood and when one person struggles we all feel those struggles. At the end of the day you always have someone to count on or someone that would be there for you. We get into it over business sometimes, we get into it over things outside of business in our personal lives. It’s somewhat dysfunctional but at the end of the day it all just works. We come together and work as a team when we need to get the job done by pulling a crowd for an Event or one of our Artists who is performing. We work together and we make each other better. Iron sharpens Iron. Having good hearted people to build with and grow a company, while growing as people, is a great combo.
OCTIV Entertainment – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
OCTIV Entertainment is anything involving Dance Music. Whether we are hosting shows…. like our December 7th Show Forest Fire with Two Owls headlining…. Otherwise we are running Party Buses to Festivals or Promoting for Clubs in Old Town and making our occasional stop on Mill Avenue to hang with the College Crowd for a night at Zuma House Tuesdays. On another note we also manage multiple emerging Artists from the Local Scene some who are now crossing between state Borders like Suspect Zero who just performed at the World Famous Avalon Night Club in Hollywood recently. Our media team also handles a variety of needs from photography, videography, graphic design, or web design. Any digital platform one would need to promote an Event or recap a memorable night.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
One of my Proudest Moments came at The Underworld which was a 3 Stage show out in the Desert by Rawhide. I got to watch the Artists our team Manages get to perform on the Main Stage of a big production with Headliners like Sikdope, R3LL, and Blunt’s n Blonde’s. Guys who are getting paid to tour and travel the country playing the music they produce. I got to watch the people I care about most do what they love and I get to know I helped play a small role in that. At the end of the day your business is only as good as the lives you positively effect from what you do. Whether it’s the guys on my team, the people who come to our events, or the people we meet out in the community. It’s people who matter more than anything else.
