Meet Ian DuPeire of Show Low

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ian DuPeire. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Phil The Band is made up of four Arizona-based musicians. Started by lead singer and guitarist Ian Dupeire ( Western Figures • drummer for Alaska and Me, Boxen, The Secrets We Keep, WARRANTY). He was joined by bassist Cody Reed ( Negative Thirty-Two ), guitarist Tony Zavala and Drummer Dylan Young.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road for musicians. Booking is always hard, especially when living a couple of hours from the city. Starting in the middle of Covid didn’t make anything easier. Getting your music in front of many people is always a struggle.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
We’re a group of friends who all have a love for music that we like to portray through our songs. We also love playing live shows in front of an energetic audience. We’ve been a band for just over a year and, in that time, have accumulated thousands of online streams. ‘Lying to myself’ is our most recent release.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Although it had a huge impact early on, music seems to slowly but surely be returning back to normal.
