Meet Guy Zwick of Highway 85 Creative

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guy Zwick.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Guy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I think it was clear back in 4th or 5th grade that I would someday be an entrepreneur. As the kingpin of a Hubba Bubba and Bubble Yum gum empire at Liberty Elementary School. Back then I used a blue tackle box to sell my merchandise. Today I’m honored to have a team of 20+ artists, craftsmen, designers, fabricators, finishers, and client support heroes that transform spaces and tell our clients’ stories in amazing ways.

So how’d we get started?
Well, on the road of life there are speed bumps, turns, minor accidents, merges and occasionally a breakdown. On Highway 85 just outside of Ajo, AZ – a breakdown occurred, literally and figuratively, for me and my wife. While sitting idly at a service station for endless hours with a sunburn from the beaches of Mexico and two dogs dramatically panting on their leashes in the 100-degree heat – a shift in perspective began to occur.

Mexico ended up being the path to a new chapter in life. One that over a decade still embraces new ideas, renewed energy, endless imagination and bold creativity.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has NOT always been a smooth road, but I enjoy both the bumpy dirt roads and the fast highways. I can honestly say that in the past, I probably didn’t have the right appreciation or empathy for other entrepreneurs that I’ve worked for. Being an entrepreneur is fashionable at the moment, but it’s hard work, never-ending hours, never show ’em you’re sweating, try not to puke on the clients, move positively forward at all times.

Ooooohhhhhhhhhh……………… best piece of advice? PAY YOUR TAXES.

Highway 85 Creative – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Highway 85 is a company that defines spaces and makes dreams a reality. We specialize in trade show exhibits, corporate interiors, retail spaces, and all forms of experiential marketing. We’re known for creating one-of-a-kind experiences, such as the largest Harley Davidson dealership in the US; Harley Davidson of Scottsdale. We worked with Bob Parsons and Big Yam to create a Harley destination like no other that included a movie theater, wedding chapel, tattoo parlor, arcade, audio room, a parts bar, a rumble zone and of course bikes and Harley gear galore for sale.

The thing I’m most proud of is the family here on Highway 85. The team here is a passionate and dedicated group that constantly amazes me with their ability to band together and accomplish all of our goals while having fun at the same time.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
There’s not one single moment that I’m most proud of because that moment hasn’t happened yet. I don’t think it ever will, simply because I’m in it for the daily struggle and challenge.
