Meet Dominique Kirkpatrick of Vegan Invasion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Kirkpatrick.

Dominique, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
About 4 years ago, my husband and I became vegetarians. This was the result of discovering the horrors of factory farming. Once we became more knowledgeable on our food’s journey to our table we wanted to make a change. After a year of being vegetarians, we then came to learn about the dairy industry and there was nothing pretty about it. Being new parents, we didn’t see any other option but to change our lifestyle and to learn a more kind and healthy way to eat for us and our children.

The transition didn’t happen overnight it took some time getting used to the changes. Cooking has always been a passion of mine. So, when we made the switch I began to study cookbooks and blogs like my life depended on it! I will say at first, I was very overwhelmed and resistant to the change. I began to realize that I was not alone with these feelings. One night my husband and I began to brainstorm about how I could help others in adapting to a plant-based diet. And from the shooting of ideas back and forth Vegan Invasion was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The journey Vegan Invasion has brought me on thus far has been an exciting one! I look forward to putting my menu out every week and getting my plant-based goodness into the bellies of as many people as possible.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Vegan Invasion story. Tell us more about the business.
For a brighter future and a promised tomorrow, I believe it starts with taking care of not only yourself but those around you and the planet we live on. From supporting small businesses to buying local organic produce I’m being an advocate for healthier lifestyles and supporting the community I live in. By eating a plant-based diet you’re fueled by the natural richness of fruits and vegetables and is a lifestyle that practices mindfulness. Vegan Invasion is a business that enforces sustainability by composting, recycling, and using biodegradable packaging, our goal is to provide flavorful vegan food inspired by ethnic cuisines from around the world. Since our menu changes weekly I like to provide meals that’ll excite my customers. We’re known for switching it up by offering vegan modified Mexican, Thai, Indian, Italian and American dishes. Making my customers happy is something my business thrives on, we work on ensuring a brighter future through educating and feeding the community. That’s what sets us apart from others, we don’t want to leave a carbon footprint. Rather we are working towards building a brighter and more healthy future by being an example for next generations to follow and carry on.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Becoming a mother was the luck that changed my life. It put so many things into perspective for me, from making sure I was offering the best quality food to trying to make this world a better place. It opened my eyes to the lifestyle I wanted to share with people. With that mindset, I was able to manifest and create a business that promises a step towards a healthy future.
