Today we’d like to introduce you to Cooper Marsh.
Hi Cooper, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After graduating college, I initially taught 8th-grade math for two years through Teach For America before starting a sales role for a supplement company, XEndurance (Which is also based out of Scottsdale). One of the owners of that supplement company, Jason St Clair, owned Lab Management as well, a sports agency. While working for Jason at XEndurance, he mentored me on the agency side. I went full-time with LAB, eventually working myself into a partner role!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth sailing doesn’t make for skilled sailors. Nothing along the journey has been smooth, but my passion for my clients makes all the struggles worth it. I have failed many times, but one of the biggest pieces of advice I give others is to find a mentor willing to jump in the trenches with you and help you learn from your mistakes. Luckily, Jason did that for me; the struggles have always been learning opportunities.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I help build athlete brands and negotiate their marketing deals. Each athlete has the opportunity to build a platform where people like to listen and learn from what they have to say. We utilize that to help build them a future beyond their sports career, so they have something to earn income off of and lean into in retirement. My favorite memory thus far was a deal we did with a new shoe/apparel company, RAD Global, with our athlete Danielle Brandon. Danielle was with one of the biggest footwear brands in the world, and we took a leap of faith to help build something new that she aligns with 100%.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
