Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Reeves.
Carla, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
This journey began for me when I left Corporate America to have my first child. After becoming a mom, it became my mission to figure out how to be a happy, thriving mom so that I could model for my children what it meant to live a fulfilling life AND to invent a lifestyle that allowed us to build the family life we envisioned while leaving a positive impact in the world.
It started with my first company, Sanity Journals. Journaling has helped me to navigate change throughout my life and with this company I set out to inspire journaling as a tool for navigating daily life. I led retreats, published self-guided journals and products and this ultimately evolved into the coaching work I do today where journaling is still a vital part of helping clients create breakthrough results in their everyday lives.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The journey has been bumpy at times. For me, it’s been a continuous journey of moving away from living my life according to what I thought I “should” do, to living a life according to my own compass. There have been many pivotal points in my life where I felt an inner warning about where things were headed and something inside me saw a bigger vision. While I didn’t always understand why or know how to get there, I stepped in that direction, held tight to my faith, and took actions that aligned even when I felt like doing otherwise.
The most recent of these was while working for a coaching company. While the experience had been incredible, there came a point in time where I felt an internal struggle emerge. Over time, that struggle grew, and I knew in my heart that it was time for me to leave and branch out on my own. I had grown accustomed to the comforts of being part of a team and flying under the radar and this move felt daunting. The risk of staying eventually outweighed the risk of leaving and I knew I had to go. I set out to build my own brand.
Today, I am incredibly grateful for the struggle that pushed me to fly on my own. I once again enjoy the ability to lead and create a business that deeply aligns with who I am and the work I am here to do in the world.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Carla Reeves – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a Coach and Speaker out to inspire and equip people to live more fully beginning today. For many years I lived on auto-pilot – checking the boxes to what I thought made a happy, successful life. That plan didn’t work. Fortunately, at a very low point in my life during my late 20’s, I was introduced to tools that allowed me to change my approach to living and that forever changed the course and experience of my life. It is my mission to help others do the same. – reduce the self-induced struggle and equip them with new mindsets, approaches and tools that allow them to elevate their experiences and quality of their days.
Today, I specialize in working with entrepreneurs, professionals and busy people who feel like “survival” has become a way of life. I help them design a way of living where productivity, balance, fulfillment and thriving all co-exist. Whether they desire to be a stronger leader, have a more engaged marriage, or follow through on their goals, the journey of coaching involves powerful mindset shifts, new approaches to old, familiar challenges and tapping into a client’s innate ability to invent and elevate the quality of their experience.
My gift is to see people and circumstances beyond where they are today. I combine a warm, loving nature with an ability to hold a strong stand for what people want that helps people move beyond their own barriers and into a more fulfilling way of living their everyday life. I see my client as the expert on leading their life and I am the expert on helping them clear what is in the way of them doing that confidently and consistently. My focus is to help people make simple, yet profound shifts in the way they think and show up to the moments of their life. These simple changes ripple into the big change that people are seeking in both their personal and professional life.
All the coaching takes place over the phone and online which allows me to work with people all over the country and world. Through a series of calls, deep reflection and lots of coach/client engagement online – participants have the opportunity to make significant positive change in a short amount of time.
I am most proud of building a company that is having a positive impact on people. When a person makes a positive, lasting shift in their life, that change ripples to their children, their family, their workspace and into the world around them.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My vision is to build a remarkable brand. A brand known for being a vehicle to make profound, lasting change in people’s lives. This year I have had the opportunity to take this message out to companies around Phoenix with an interactive presentation and I am excited to do more of this. While I love the one-to-one work, the speaking allows me to reach a larger audience. Years ago, speaking was something I avoided like the plague. Speaking has now become a calling and I have the sense there is more to come.
I am in the midst of creating alternative ways to help people. E-books, downloadable journals and self-guided experiences are a few ideas in the works.
