Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryanna Casey and Stephanie Neiheisel.
Bryanna and Stephanie met three years ago when they were featured as two of the “Top Five Makeup Artists in the Valley” in Scottsdale Modern Luxury Magazine’s “Best Of The City 2014” issue. Shortly After, they started teaching makeup classes at various salons and creative spaces in Phoenix. In doing so, they started the discussion of how together they wanted to educate, promote and expand the beauty industry in Arizona. This is how the Phoenix Makeup Collective was born.
The Phoenix Makeup Collective is an independent agency that represents Top Hair Stylists and Makeup Artists in Phoenix, Arizona. Their artists specialize in High-End Bridal, Beauty, Editorial, Commercial.
What is unique about their agency is that they are two Makeup artists that now represent other artists. They find this as an important part of how they have built their agency and how it is run. What they wanted out of representation for themselves is what they give to their artists!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s always a struggle when first starting a business. You have to have a lot of passion and drive to want to start something from the ground up. We did a lot of work prior to taking our idea public and a ton of research. The artistic part of this came easily but to understand the business side of how to start an agency was eye opening. We came across quite a few bumps but overall it has been such a positive experience. The word struggle sometimes comes off as a negative, but to us the struggle was so important because it was a positive part of our growth in learning how to be better for ourselves and for our future artists.
Please tell us about Phoenix Makeup Collective.
We are an agency, specializing in hair and makeup. We are known mostly for High-End Bridal. Phoenix has a massive bridal industry and we specialize in high-profile clients. What some people may not know is that we also have a large editorial and commercial side to our agency as well. We work with design firms, other creatives, art directors, and contribute to local and national publications. We really cover all the bases, we have artists that are strong in all aspects of this industry.
What sets us apart is our aesthetic. Our approach is from a more artistic and editorial place. Our goal is to elevate the concept. We have a unique approach to how we curate relationships within our industry here in Phoenix. We would not have chosen to start an agency here if we didn’t see such amazing potential in all the creatives that reside here.
We are most proud of our “Team” mentality. We genuinely believe in celebrating and supporting fellow artists. Our approach to representation comes from this idea; our artists are family. We give 110% to them. We also want to give the client a more seamless and elevated experience when booking with us. Whether it is a bridal client or a commercial shoot we give the client the opportunity to book everything in one place. We eliminate the need to search all over the valley to find what you need, we have it.
