Today we’d like to introduce you to BreAna Allen.
BreAna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I first began my fashion journey at the age of 16 when I started my first company. Beaute Marc Clothing (pronounced Beauty Mark) was created for women who desired to find their true inner beauty, while still looking amazing on the outside. At the time, I was struggling with self-love big time and I knew that me helping others would also help free me of my insecurities.
Eventually, my line became quite familiar in my community/surrounding areas, so I decided to host my first fashion show at the university I was attending in Michigan (Saginaw Valley State University). My goal was to host an event for my community because of the great support I was given, however, it turned out way bigger than what I expected! I ended up having the biggest fashion show in Michigan, back in 2011, with a crowd of 750+. At that moment, I knew I wanted to stick with fashion and continue impacting lives with my passion.
Years later, I continued hosting fashion shows in Michigan, but this time, I partnered with The TJX Companies (TJ Maxx and Marshalls) instead of hosting shows with my clothing line; this is where my love for styling began! These shows also included audiences of 500+.
Fast forward to 2017, I moved out here to Arizona on a HUGE JUMP of faith. I knew God was telling me to discover my purpose even more and that’s exactly what happened. Leaving all of my family and close friends behind in Michigan was very scary, but I knew I had to do what I had to do. Now that I am out here, I do fashion styling full-time, as well as personal shopping and image consulting. Next year, my company STUDIO B will launch here in Phoenix and will be a model incubator to help upcoming models get signed to model agencies. Along with the incubator, there will also be a very unique boutique attached to it.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of success being “smooth”, and that includes with me, any of my mentors, or people I look up to! LOL. My journey has not been easy. However, when you know you’re in your purpose/calling, all things will work out, no matter what! When I first came to Arizona (mind you, I didn’t know anyone), I received my first real “rejection”. At first, it rocked me because no one knew me or anything I was capable of. It was one of those, “when people show you who they are the first time, believe them” type of moments. I’m thankful I have a VERY BOMB support system that helped lift my spirits and reminded me of who I am!
Please tell us about your work.
When people come up to me and ask me what I do, I tell them I do fashion. LOL, I style, I shop, and I help women and men feel comfortable while they wear their clothing. I truly believe that one important factor in feeling beautiful in clothing is knowing you’re beautiful without the clothing.
– Fashion Stylist
– Personal Shopper
– Life Coach
These (4) are what I’m most famous for.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Starting over, I would definitely manage my money and priorities different, more-so towards the beginning of my career. When you’re young, accountability to self can be very scarce. I would also learn quickly to take red flags for what they are. All business isn’t good business.
