Meet SCPWELDZ in Queen Creek

Today we’d like to introduce you to SCPWELDZ.

Thanks for sharing your story with us SCPWELDZ. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Recognizing your roots and beginnings builds the story of who you are. Our story begins in New Mexico on a ranch near the Gila Wilderness. Many years were spent enjoying the hard work of our family that calls this place HOME. Just up the east fork of the Gila River lies a canyon… Sand Canyon. SCP – Sand Canyon Precision was inspired by this vast, wide and yet very remote canyon. The Z in weldz represents the area we now call home – Arizona.

Early days of our business started as S & S Iron building and scratching our path through many areas of Arizona: Troon, Scottsdale, Chandler, Cave Creek, Paradise Valley, Gilbert, Chandler and Queen Creek. Building interior handrails, patio enclosures, security doors and exterior handrail. All along learning what it means to put the customer first and do work you can be proud of at the end of the day. S & S Iron followed us to New Mexico for five years, where it retired when we relocated back to Arizona.

Today, Shawn along with his two sons (Taylor & Tyler) have worked hard to build SCPWeldz into a people and place customers can count on. Taylor & Tyler were 11 years old when they began learning how to weld and work with customers. Combined Shawn and his sons have over 20 years’ experience in many welding and fabricating processes. Building something worth leaving behind is the goal of our company which has come with many steps and directions. Learning the welding trade, acquiring the certified training, utilizing the 20 years knowledge and experience of the mining industry, focusing on safety for ourselves and our customers, hiring AWS certified welders, fixing our mistakes and always leaving our customers wanting more. In three short years, we have worked with hundreds of customers here in Arizona. We thank them all for allowing us to share our family and services with them.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Patience…patience and some more patience. Working as a family can be trying at times, but we strive to see our business as a means to an end. When the day ends, that means we remember family first. Starting a business literally from the ground up takes hours of paperwork, license processing, finding a location that suites the needs of a welding company, upkeep on equipment and balancing life. Deciding what the market is and where the needs are, staying up to date on what our customers need and being able to make suggestions all play an important role in the business-building process. Once in a while, we stumble, but we always get back up. Keep learning and growing.

Please tell us about your work – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Your Inspiration is OUR Specialization!

This has always been our motto, brand, slogan and goal, it comes from our commitment to provide specialized welding services to our customers. Some projects are ‘cookie-cutter’ – however, most projects are inspired by our customers. There is no uniform plan. Materials and design are unique to the customer and project! We work with our customers to execute their vision while ensuring specialization in the process.

One of the things we are most proud of is the praise the customers give us when they call and tell us how AWESOME our workers and quality of work is.

 Comments like:

 “Gentlemen, honest and they do just what they said they’d do!”

 “They listen to what I want and make suggestions accordingly.”

 “They work when they say they will and finish on time.”

In the construction industry not only is QUALITY craftsmanship noticed, even more so is the attitude and person behind it.

We specialize in:

 * No Climb Fence

 * Pergolas

 * Pipe Fence/Corrals

 * Mare Motels/Shade Structures

 * Decorative Handrail

 * Gates

 * Security Doors/Enclosures

 * Equipment Repair

 * Stainless, Aluminum, Hardened Steel & Mild Steel

When it comes to providing the services mentioned here there are a few things that set us apart from our competitors…

Our welders are AWS certified – what’s the difference? AWS is a standard for welding processes. We hold certification in 6G and structural steel welding (among many other applications of welding), which means any specialized welds or structure used by the public.

We are licensed with the AZ Register of Contractors. This is important because when you hire a licensed contractor you are protected by the law, their liability insurance and bonds. This also allows us to work closely with the various cities and municipalities here in Arizona for permitting and licensing. As well as the opportunity to work with other local businesses for materials and engineering services.

In the age of social media, we have worked hard to have a five-star rating with Better Business Bureau, Facebook, Yelp, and Google. Genuine and honest referrals from our awesome customers.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were just starting out?
We are proud of what we have accomplished. We have learned a lot in three years, its what makes us better people and a better business. If we were to do this all over again…there is not much we’d change. One thing is for sure we’d keep delivering on the promise of quality work and great people.
