Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Halsell.
Ashlee, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was in the corporate world, I had a fun and sexy marketing job but, at the end of the day, something was just missing. I am a nurturer, I’ve always loved taking care of people. I’ve always had the maternal instinct. Long story short, I went to a student acupuncture clinic and slowly fell in love with acupuncture. I ended up leaving my well paid, stable marketing job and started a 4 year Master’s program with no income. Here I am now, an acupuncturist! I love that I had the courage to make that leap and I absolutely am passionate about helping people heal. It feels weird to me to even call this a “job” because it doesn’t feel like “work” to me.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Halfway through grad school, my boyfriend (now my husband) and I got pregnant. I was so scared and wasn’t sure how I’d manage a rigorous full time grad program AND be a first time Mom. I powered through and did it though… I’ve never felt more accomplished!
Acupuncture with Ashlee – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Acupuncture with Ashlee is a one woman business. She offers healing to her patients, the natural way (with no nasty side effects). Services offered include: acupuncture, cupping, gua sha (also known as “scraping”), moxibustion (a heated herbal therapy), and Chinese herbal formulas.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is a nice balance between the clinic and my family. I want to help as many people as I can and I also want to me the best mom and wife I can be. I make conscious decision to keep that delicate balance in check. I call myself a “mompreneur.”
