Meet Arianna Flegel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arianna Flegel.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My first home is in Boise, Idaho, but more recently I spent a couple of years in Southern California being a Disneyland Cast Member before finding my way to Arizona last year after finding out we were expecting a baby girl!

Photography has always been a huge passion of mine, but I always had an excuse not to make a career out of it – life, school, focusing on other dreams… EXCUSES! This year I jumped into engagement and wedding photography, head first, and am so happy that I took that leap to pursue my passion. I’m extremely lucky to have so much support. Thank you, Arizona!

Please tell us about your art.
I hope my art is recognizable not just based on the quality of the photos, but by the expressions of the people in them!

I’m not a big fan of “poses.” I don’t need clients that are total models – I want to capture people who are genuinely happy to be together!

Emotion is one of the most valuable things I work with. If I can truly capture the way someone is feeling, then I did my job! I believe people are always going to want to remember more than how they looked; they’re also going to want to remember how they felt.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
The #1 advice I would give to any aspiring artist is to WORK. Work for yourself. Work on yourself. Just keep working.

You can pay for all the mentorships/art classes in the world, (and learning from other artists can be awesome experiences), but the only way to really find out who YOU are as an artist and perfect your craft is to just. keep. doing it.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
A great way to keep updated on the work I’m doing and support me is by following me on Instagram and Facebook: @windandskyphoto
