Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Villagomez.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was born in Quito Ecuador, Moved to the U.S. 15 years ago to go to college at the University of Arizona. I got into film-making and photography when I was around 17 years old, and they are still my passion and work. I currently work as a Video Producer at the University of Arizona, and I just started my YouTube channel which is about cinematography and VFX.
Please tell us about your art.
I’m a Video Creator, and I create videos about anything. Short films, travel videos or independent films, I have done or been part of all of them. I do more commercial work for my Nine to five job, but I always try to bring a more creative way to tell the stories I need to tell. Regardless of if it’s a video I’m getting paid for or just something I’m working for myself.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
When it comes to video creation, there’s never been a better time to create videos. You can get a great camera with great quality for very cheap. So, if you want to make videos or films, there’s no excuse not to do it.
I live in Tucson, and here we have a very vibrant creative community, although there’s always room for improvement.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
