Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Anderson.
Angela, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always had a passion for the beauty business. In fact, I was born into it!
My family has owned and operated a cosmetology school in Las Vegas since before I was born. Naturally, I grew up around all things beauty. During my college years on summer breaks, I worked at the school as a receptionist and general assistant.
I always knew I wanted to be part of the business side of this industry, but trusted that the right path would be to learn it from the ground up. When I graduated from college with my Business Management degree, it was my turn to go through the cosmetology program and get licensed.
After completing cosmetology school, I moved to Phoenix to be closer to the man I now get to call my husband. As a young dreamer, I was determined to find a career I loved in this brand new city. Through trial and error, I built quite the varied resume: a mortgage company, a small social media agency, a larger technology company, and more…before finally finding my way back to the industry I love.
In 2017, I became a sales rep for a haircare product distribution company. Connecting with salon owners and hairstylists on a daily basis helped me better understand their needs. One of the biggest needs I saw was training stylists how to use social media to market themselves.
Marketing has always come easily to me and I love the innovation involved. Combining my passion for beauty and marketing with the burning desire to make an impact by helping others succeed, Beauty Social Breakthrough was born. My mission is to help beauty professionals take their businesses to the next level by equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to properly market themselves in an ever-changing digital world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Every step of the way has presented its own challenges and overwhelm, but doing what I feel I was created to do has made it totally worth it. I love what I am doing because I know I am helping beauty professionals create the career they ultimately desire. Bring on the obstacles, I am determined enough to find a way through them.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories are when I got to go to my parent’s cosmetology school to get my nails and hair done of course! I have photos of the cosmetology student’s giving me a pedicure with my feet in a make-shift pedicure bowl since my legs were too short to reach the adult pedicure bowl. I think I was four years old! I also had some bold highlights in my hair by 12 years old- OMG!
