Hi Andrew, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
My name is Andrew Mark also known as Drew and I’m a professional tattoo artist.
When did you start tattooing and how long have you been an artist?
I started tattooing professionally in 2012 and I’ve been an artist my whole life since I was a kid.
Do you have a favorite style or subject matter that you like to tattoo?
I have many styles I like including realism, surrealism, neo traditional, illustrative, japanese etc but overall my favorite style would have to be black & grey realism. My favorite subject matters are animals, greek mythology, nature, anything cultural related, and portraits that I can give a surrealistic interpretation to.
How would you describe the way you work as a tattoo artist?
I prefer to have a consultation with the client to go over any ideas they have, and how the idea can flow with the body part in which they are getting tattooed. I love when my clients give me the freedom to be creatively free when designing because you get the best work from me. I also like to work at my own pace and never be rushed during a tattoo session. With all these things in place you ultimately get the best version of me as an artist.
Do you have any hobbies outside of tattooing?
I love to play the guitar, music, reading books, anything art related, traveling, exercising, wood working, cooking, and mostly anything that involves outdoor activities.
What are some things you believe that helped you get to where you are in your career?
My faith in God, believing in myself, studying my craft, always taking risk, my wife and my family for always supporting me. Also for my clients that trust me enough to tattoo them with amazing art.
What is some advice you would like to leave your readers with?
Whatever it is that you love to do have faith, take risks, believe in yourself and never give up. The sky’s the limit and you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
It was so great to reconnect. One last question – how can our readers connect with you, learn more or support you?
