Meet Amanda Baker of Loving My Skin Spa in Litchfield Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Baker.

Amanda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Loving My Skin Spa is a family owned establishment in Litchfield Park, AZ. We opened in May 2017 after 2 1/2 years as an independent contractor. Our goal is to give our customers the VIP treatment with each visit.

My focus is to address the needs of each customer to promote a healthy complexion. I specialize in the treatment of active acne, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation (darker patches of pigment).

Our passion is to provide each client with customize skincare treatments or a therapeutic massage. We will listen to your preferences and provide you with the best care possible so you will love the skin you’re in.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The only challenge is letting everyone know we are open. We have a small space off the main road so advertising has been the main focus. Once we get customers to visit us, they always feel welcome and please at the service.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Our approach is different from other spas because we establish a relationship with each customer to achieve the results they are looking for. We don’t do the same treatment for each customer. Every treatment is customized at each individual visit

We know that your personal appearance and overall health are important and we want to help you address your concerns and share our knowledge with you. The additional knowledge will assist with preventing reoccurrence of the concerns.

What were you like growing up?
My parents were always concerned because I was known to be mixing cleaning agents and kitchen items to make “masks”…of which never made it beyond the kitchen sink. My mother had a lump removed from her breast tissue while I was in elementary and this started my infatuation with the human body. I wanted to know why the body functioned the way that it did and how our health could be improved. I was intrigued by chemistry and biology in junior high and high school, but never knew why I was so drawn to it, other than the quest for knowledge.

After college, I pursued a career in the government, but was never fulfilled. I decided that it was time to follow my “calling.” I enrolled in SWINA to change my career and follow something that has always been a passion of mine. The program lit a fire within me and I have never looked back. I am in my dream career and help men and women feel great about themselves on a daily basis. I could not be happier that I made a change to follow my dreams.
