Meet Aleah Chilleen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleah Chilleen.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Aleah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
So to set the scene of how my amazing adventure began… My parents bought a restaurant in the middle of nowhere in 2004. In 2016 they were in financial trouble and I was able to acquire a Small business loan to purchase the restaurant. But that’s the boring part of the story!

We have a large event space out back of the restaurant that we had used for a few events here and there. We had someone say they wanted to get married in the space. We didn’t understand why it was nothing special. But then the idea came to me if we added a little grass, a waterfall, some gravel we might just have something. So I began pinteresting and getting ideas.

After three years we now have an amazing wedding venue that has grown so much. We are booking for 2021 and 2020 is almost full! So it’s been quite an adventure watching the venue grow from one wedding here and there to three every weekend.

We offer a unique all inclusive package that allows our clients to basically one stop shop, they still get to pick out everything but we have reputable vendors there to make sure everything goes perfect!

Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve been incredibly lucky to start this venue when there was such a boom in rustic and barn style weddings. Also the age of Facebook being a top way to advertise. I get the majority of my brides from Facebook!

The biggest struggles along the way have been with remodeling the venue. We started from the ground up on the venue so we build a little more every year. This year we decided to do some major renovating. And to say it was an easy process would be far from true. It has been chaos all summer trying to get the venue back in order not only for our fall brides but to show new brides and try and book the venue for future dates. We had a concrete company screw up everything and I lost over 10,000 dollars. We had a wood shipment get completely destroyed and twisted by the harsh Arizona sun. It’s been one problem after the next. But we are almost ready for the wedding season that starts in 15 days.

Financially it has been a struggle as well. We don’t do weddings in the summer so we had all of this money going out on renovations but almost no money coming in. We were over budget and struggling to pay. But I was able to host an open house and book over 10 weddings in one day. Which was enough to get us out of the hole we were in!

We pride ourselves in making every wedding dream a reality. From all the little details to the major stuff, we are there every step of the way to help brides plan the most important day of their life.

One nice thing is we built our venue from a dirt lot to what it is now. So everything we have built is designed specifically to make the venue run like a well oiled machine. This summer we added a secret door with a refrigerator just so we would have a place to store the cake. We want the venue to run smooth and perfect so we go out of our way to design the venue to do just that!

My staff and vendor team are incredible it is 100% a team effort to make everything go perfect.

The passion is there and our clients can tell. I am always replying to my brides as quickly as possible and answering their questions. We also are always renovating and making the venue better for the brides. We aren’t in it just to make money and it shows. Although money is nice!

Our pricing is also very competitive. Compared to other venues we are thousands under theirs. I strive to have happy brides who aren’t having to sacrifice everything just to have the perfect wedding day.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We plan on opening a hotel near the venue which I think will be huge, having somewhere for wedding guests to stay near the venue will be a huge selling point. We do plan on adding and renovating more we just don’t know what yet. My goal is 70 weddings a year. We did 52 in 2018 and have 65 scheduled in 2019. So we are close!
