Meet Aaron Lopez of Bid For Escape in Peoria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Lopez.

Aaron, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In the summer of 2016 “Bid For Escape” was born. It’s been over 8yrs since I released music with my former band “Downcast Fable”. I now took on a new challenge and used my talents of being a guitar player, drummer, singer and song writer to write and record my own EP “Nothing Left To Lose” released summer of 2017. Bid For Escape has had two very successful full band live shows so far and I am very lucky to have very talented artist/friends play live with me. With Anthony Lee on drums, Chris Pernice on bass & Jacob Ramirez on guitar it makes the EP come to life with an even better experience of each song because each musician is so good at their craft. In between live shows, I play a lot of Open Mic’s & Solo Acoustic gigs and show the fans a broken down but powerful versions of my songs. What’s Next? I am currently working on releasing a music video for the single “Eat Me Alive” and continue to write. I feel “Nothing Left To Lose” was a part of my life (a chapter if you will) that I needed to get out through music and now I’m looking to grow from that musically and lyrically.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. I work full time at a local bank and also have a soon to be 4yr old at home. So finding time to make/write music takes discipline and time. Also because I am the only “Official” band member I can’t split the cost of Merch (Shirts to sell at shows), Recording and Distribution (ITunes, Spotify, Google Play, Etc.). This is where my heart is though so I make it happen.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bid For Escape – what should we know?
What sets me apart is that I recorded all of the parts in the recording (Drums, Guitar, Vocals) with some help from friends here and there but mostly all from scratch by myself.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel the most important qualities for my success so far is to never stop learning more music and always write/never giving up on what’s real in my heart.
