Life & Work with Lyndie Hall of Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndie Hall.

Hi Lyndie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2009 I graduated high school, and that summer, I received my cosmetology license. For seven years, I worked in various salons doing hair while at the same time getting married and starting a family. During my second pregnancy, I started to re-evaluate my life. Some big changes were ahead of me (a divorce), and I needed to provide for my family. I never was passionate about hair but wanted to utilize my license and stay present in the beauty industry. In 2016 I decided to take a lash extension course and become a certified lash artist. I had my second child, and a few months later, I started my business, rented my own lash studio space, and I’ve never looked back.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
My journey has had many highs and many lows. Starting a business is not for the faint of heart. Being a single mom and starting my own business was terrifying. I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders at times. Having two littles depend on you for everything while at the same time navigating starting and growing my business. In the beginning, I invested all of my money back into the business, hoping it would be worth it one day. I didn’t have any experience in the business world; It was a lot of trial and error for me and learning as I went. I battled low confidence, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome. I had to learn to trust myself and the process. I’ve had to do a lot of inner work and mindset shifts throughout my journey. This has helped me uncover the confidence and self-trust needed to grow my business. Consistency and perseverance have led me to where I am today and my tribe of friends and family.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a lash artist specializing in mega volume. In 2018 I stepped into the education side of lash extensions training other women to do the same. In 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, I opened an E-commerce shop with my lash extension product line, specializing in tweezers and lash trays. I love the creative and artistic side of lashes. It’s a very tedious art but beautiful and unique to every individual. I hope I am known for my support for other women to thrive. I want every woman to feel empowered in who they are and what they do. We are so powerful when we come together and support one another. There is room for everyone to grow and succeed. I’d say I am most proud of myself as a mother and business owner. Doing both has had its challenges, but I am proud to be able to show my children they are capable of anything if they believe in themselves.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Absolutely! First and foremost, I wouldn’t be here without the clients I have met. Every person who gave me a chance to be their lash artist gave me more experience, which helped me grow. Whether it’s a past or current client, I am grateful they chose me. I have quite a few that have been with me from the beginning that has been so patient and encouraging as I’ve perfected my craft. My friends and family let me practice with them at the beginning of my journey. I am humble enough to say I was terrible while trying to learn everything I could about lash extensions. They were patient and gave their time while being some of my biggest cheerleaders. I couldn’t have done it without their support. Every encouraging message or comment means the world to me. We truly rise by lifting others. I’ve found many incredible, inspiring women in the beauty industry that I have looked up and learned so much from. I’ve invested in a few mentors throughout my journey. The tools they have given me to navigate my business and mindset have been priceless. Affirmations have played a huge role in my journey. I can’t forget the self-help books and podcasts I’ve read and listened to over the years. They have also given me so many tools. The power of the mind is magical; we are capable of so much. We have to believe and trust ourselves.

Lastly, my incredibly supportive and number one fans are my husband and children; having a partner who views me as their equal has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. My children have always been my anchor and guide to every decision and move I’ve made. On my days when self-doubt creeps in, he is always there to lead me back to my trusting self.
