Life & Work with Henny Lago

Today we’d like to introduce you to Henny Lago.

Hi Henny, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
While I was in Seoul South Korea, I was working as a ghostwriter and songwriter for a few artists at Bubblegum Studio. After leaving there, I decided to come to Arizona to get a better knowledge of music. Graduated from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Science and interned at Saltmine Studio.

After working, songwriting, and networking with a lot of artists all over the world, I’ve decided that this is my passion and that I want to do and know everything about the industry. I locked myself in my studio for the summer of 2018 and was working on my sound. From engineering, and production, to lyrics and vocals. Once I was comfortable with my sound I began showcasing.

I’ve won contests for; quality control and performed all over Arizona as well as many other states. My fan base started to grow incredibly fast. During Covid, I spent time taking vocal lessons as well as alot of self-reflecting. After so many trials and tribulations, I have come back with an entirely new sound! From 80s pop to dancehall and R&B I’ve become very versatile.

I have finally found my unique sound. And I’m excited for the world to hear it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I was in prison in 2020, I was homeless, performing on the street for tips to pay rent, sleeping in my car many nights, recording songs in my car, and mixing and mastering them at coffee shops.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an Audio Engineer, Singer, and Songwriter.

I have been a ghostwriter for many artists, celebrities as well as companies. I am a published artist with catalogs in Warner Chappell as well as other industry-known companies. I’m proud of being able to reach the fans and motivate everyone to never quit on their dreams no matter the size.

Hard work dedication and faith will take you a long way. My sound is unique and I’m always doing something different. I embrace being uncomfortable and transparent.

What’s next?
Opening a multi-media company for Arizona as well as more nonprofit events to give back to the community as well as working on a few movies and commercial projects.

I have over 1000 songs and I’m excited for the world to go through the motions with me. I’m working on my fitness and self-love.
