Life & Work with Amy Netzel of Buckeye

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Netzel.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
At one time in my life, I gained weight for various reasons. When I realized a change needed to happen to improve myself, I trained for 2 1/2 years, ate well, and improved my overall physical and mental health. I have energy again, and I am full of life. I want to help anybody that wants or needs help to become a better version of themselves. BeFitAnytime means just that ANYTIME. The time is now.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Staying healthy has always been a goal of mine. But, I am human. Stress often triggered me to eat more than I should. Once I realized that it was unhealthy for me, I made a change for the better. I have one life, and I’d rather be using it to be active instead of finding myself in doctor’s offices in the future because I was reactive to situations.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a general education teacher but have coached several sports at the school: baseball, softball, volleyball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls basketball, and football. I also spent 5 years coaching girls’ basketball at Willow Canyon High School. Fitness and strength training were my goals for these teams. With my successes with coaching sports, I decided that helping people of all ages reach their fitness goals was something I was called to do. So, I started BeFitAnytime, because it means just that ANYTIME.

What makes you happy?
It makes me happy to watch people learn and grow. When they hit fitness goals, it is rewarding for me. I advocate for working together, setting goals, and holding each other accountable. Happiness is working together to make the other person greater. It is never self-centered.
