Today we’d like to introduce you to Aanya Vinson.
Hi Aanya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
It started with having a strong sense of imagination as a kid. I always was creating something – Making new things out of old things, going on YouTube to learn new skills, and playing dress-up pretty hardcore. This never really went away in my adult life.
For me, being able to create whatever it may be that I am envisioning is essential to my happiness and well-being, so I found an outlet for that in the beauty and content creation industry!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No. Not at all. Life was hard, hard, and will always be a little challenging at times.
But hey, that’s what makes the journey so intriguing, right? If everything was easy and we always knew how things would turn out. well… how would there be room for growth? How would there be room for change? The hard times prepared me for what I was asking for in the end and if I hadn’t gone through it all I wouldn’t know what to do now.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a hairdresser, makeup artist, and content. creator! If you were to sum it up into one category it is the beauty industry but in my head, I like to say that I work in the field of creation cause that’s really what the beauty industry is all about for me. We are artists.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Patience is a virtue. Man, if I could go back in time and tell my younger self any one piece of advice it would be to really work on mastering patience sooner. I have so many ideas floating around in my head all the time and I have so many visions of how my life can go.
I can see them all so clearly at times it feels like I could just sort of jump right on into that reality. Because of this, it gets hard to focus and get through all the tedious detailed work that it takes to actually get from point A to point B. I know how to do the breathing work, to take the time, to map the path out so that I can actually accomplish the goal and create the vision in real life.
