Life and Work with Billie Branch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Billie Branch.

Billie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Branch International was established by Billie Branch in 2010 in Phoenix Arizona. Branch International successfully became an established 501(c)3 approved Non-profit corporation in 2017. As a Single Mother in the City of Phoenix, I could relate to many of the struggles face by limited resources in the community. As the single mother of a pre-med student at Grand Canyon University also a Branded makeup Artist, I feel that it is important to start ministry and entrepreneurship at home first. I have always been the minister, advocate, support system, counselor, nurturer and friend that my daughter needed because I believe in what the bible says in Proverbs 22:6 teaching a training up child in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it. This scripture inspired me to be all that my daughter needed and to be her role model.  The  experience of being a young single mother gave me the heart and desire to help those who were struggling in the community. I have operated in ministry for over thirteen years and my passion has always been Evangelism. Evangelism allows me to be out in the community with hurting people, praying for them, guiding them to Salvation through the teachings of Christ Jesus. Branch International provides, leadership entrepreneurship, life skills, employment opportunities, community outreach to single mothers, at risk young adults, military vets and homeless families in the community.  We provide interview clothing, job interview skills and mentorship. Branch International partners with local churches in the city, businesses, and other agencies to provide these programs.  It is a great honor and privilege to help meet the needs of our clients with financial/economic stability, education resources, spiritual counseling, ministry, life skills, health and wellness services while guiding them on the path of independent living and stability. I believe that as a community united, we are stronger together.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been an easy one, but I love all that we do to service the community in such a great City of Phoenix. The problem with those living in poverty in the City of Phoenix alone is that there is such a great need for stable housing, financial needs, leadership and employment. Its not easy because I have such a huge heart and desire to help people find their purpose that I am often moved with compassion. I love to network and get out into the community to talk to the homeless and potential clients about the needs they have and help them meet those needs for a better life. This research and personal connection with the community and leaders in the community allows us to narrow down the programs that are being built to meet the urgent needs of those affected in the community. I give lots of great credit to my education by earning my Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Studies from Grand Canyon University as a big role in helping to educate me in my purpose, vision and mission. Branch International is currently in need of and seeking financial sponsorship, funding, donors, grants, scholarships, partnerships, multiple housing properties, small buses and vans as the most needed resources so we are better successful in providing more opportunities, services and programs to meet the needs of our clients and the community.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Branch International – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Branch International is known for compassion, leadership and our humanitarian efforts in the community and throughout the City of Phoenix. We provide Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Life Skills, resume building volunteer opportunities, job services and partnerships. We are most proud of our community outreach named Operation Harvest. On November 10th 2018  Branch International exceeded our goal originally planning for 50 families to receive a Thanks Giving Food Box and was successful in providing 54 full boxes, we had 38 extra bags of food to give out, cases of melons and cases upon cases of extra food to give away, We were able to successfully provide food boxes, bags and cases of canned goods for 110 families. There were over 480 bottles of water donated, lots and lots of hot meals served to the community, prayer, entertainment and family fun for this event all by donations from the community. Operation Harvest was a great success. We raised a great amount of money from partnering with local businesses, churches, friends and family!) We promoted and marketed Operation Harvest through social media, walking the surrounding communities passing out flyers and conducted a live interview with Arizona Mix Tape Radio. We had South Mountain Community College girls basketball team and the South Mountain Community College Coach Byron Jackson come out to volunteer By way of partnership with Coach and Pastor Alfred Craig Jr. What sets Branch International apart is that we work hard through spiritual led leadership to provide services to meet the needs of with those who feel hopeless in the community such as homeless families, military vets, single mothers and at risk young adults. Branch International provides compassion, professionalism and great opportunities to the public from all walks of life. We believe in working together through community support and partnerships with different churches, other nonprofits, staffing agencies, schools, local businesses, leaders and local government agencies. We are working to be a one-stop shop starting a new program that provides showers, meals, interview skills and jobs to the homeless and homeless military vets population. One of our goals is to receive and provide stable housing through several properties around the city and provide housing services along with our programs. At Branch International, we endeavor to be the solution to the need.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
What has worked well for me is having great mentors in my life. I have some of the best mentors with my Spiritual Father Dr. Alfred Craig Sr. (I AM Church to the Nations). I am a part of an Amazing Ministry called MIRROR International under the Spiritual Leadership of Apostle Dr. Timothy Craig I who has been a huge part in the success of Branch Internationals events by providing us the spiritual leadership, guidance and tools we need to be successful and lastly I amazing Business Coach Lisa Guice (lgglobalvision). I started out in prayer first to ensure that I was in purpose and along with that, having great Spiritual leaders, mentors and coaches to guide me along the way has been very beneficial in our programs and success. My daughter, Amanni Branch is the Vice President to Branch International and has been very active in our networking progress. Networking events around the city are a great way to our organization known around the State of Arizona and building partnerships. Social media has played a great roll in networking, advertising and marketing. Branch International has an amazing Leadership, Entrepreneur, Mentoring and Networking program that provides entrepreneurs, ministers, single mothers, and families living in poverty the tools to start, implement, and launch successful businesses while also learning great life skills. We’re working diligently to seek more partnerships so we can launch new programs to the community.
