Inspiring Conversations with Dr. Anthony Balduzzi of Fit Father Project , Fit Mother Project

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Anthony Balduzzi.

Hi Dr. Anthony, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into health & fitness started at a young age — right after my father died from cancer. He was 42 years young when he passed; I was 9 then.

Watching my dad lose his health at such a young age taught me one of life’s greatest lessons — that health is the foundation of everything we love. Health is the foundation of our ability to raise our families, pursue our passions, connect with others, and enjoy our lives to the fullest. When we lose our health, we quickly lose all of that.

After Dad died, I made two sacred promises. First, I promised to learn how to stay strong and healthy so that I could take care of my mom and little brother. Second, I promised that, in time, I’d help other busy dads & moms do the same for themselves and their families. Since making those promises, health has been the cornerstone focus of my life. I studied nutrition and exercise for countless hours — completing dual degrees in Nutrition & Neuroscience from an Ivy League university. I became a certified personal trainer and avid bodybuilder, competing in some of the world’s most prestigious competitions. I eventually attended the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe to take my health and wellness knowledge to the next level.

After completing my naturopathic medical training, I founded the Fit Father Project and the Fit Mother Project websites in memory of my father to share everything I’ve learned about health & wellness with the specific goal of helping other busy dads and moms lose weight, build muscle, and finally get healthy for both themselves and their families.

I’m proud to share that since founding the Fit Father Project and Fit Mother Projects, my team and I have helped over 60,000 parents in over 100 countries lose weight and get healthy with our programs — alongside millions of others who read our blog and watch our YouTube channels every month.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The most meaningful experiences in my life have centered around overcoming adversity. As I’ve shared, my father died when I was 10. That early adversity brought me into an early appreciation for the fragility of life, ignited my passion for studying health & fitness, and set me on a path of discovering a deeper purpose for myself and those I would eventually serve.

In my teens and early 20s, I studied hard for over a decade to excel at university while competing as a bodybuilder. The adversity of putting tremendous energy into both the mental and physical domains of life helped me create a powerful work ethic and discipline that served as the foundation for the success of my companies.

In my mid-20s, I worked tirelessly for years to build the Fit Father Project & Fit Mother Project companies despite many years of very little progress. It took me years to build profitable companies and acquire digital marketing and entrepreneurship skills to succeed. I stayed persistent, and that adversity taught me how to create, package, and sell valuable products that serve others and eventually build multi-million dollar companies.

When I was 26, I got into a serious skiing accident that almost took my life. After 6 surgeries, relearning how to walk, and overcoming periods of tremendous pain, the adversity and experience of healing my body brought me back into a deep connection with God.

In every seed of adversity exists the opportunity for overcoming the chance to rise to the challenge and discover more profound meaning, virtues, connection, and inner strength. Pressure makes diamonds. We can choose to view adversity as a gift. The adversity that is fully experienced and overcome gives us the rewards of great strengths, virtues, and new perspectives.

As you know, we’re big fans of the Fit Father Project and Fit Mother Project. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about your work?
