Inspiring Conversations with Bri Gesell of Cave Creek Beauty Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Gesell.

Hi Bri, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Cave Creek Beauty Bar started as a concept and blossomed into a community. I was approached with opening a salon and knowing that the town already had a handful of incredible salons, I knew that it had very little opportunity for licensed cosmetologists to step into an entrepreneurial position. My original business plan was a very hands off approach. Leasing to licensed esthetician’s, stylists, and artists and really just turning over the space into their hands. What I wasn’t ready for was how much I would desire surrounding myself around the community that would build here (and is still growing). I ended up deciding to add retail space filled with only local, small business creators.

Over time, the Beauty Bar has evolved on its own into this space that is given life by business owners who believe there is room for everyone to succeed and believes that community is everything. I have been absolutely blessed with good people, with amazing energy, who see collaboration and community over ego and greed.

Currently we have 5 stylists, 1 esthetician, a lash artist, brow artist who also offers a variety of Fibroblast plasma lift and lip blush services. Within our retail, we have a handful of women owned and operated makers and creators who create everything from non toxic products to crystals to hand embroidery and hand curated local gift boxes. We are incredibly lucky to be filled with such incredibly inspiring entrepreneurs and are still looking to add like minded hair stylists to our team.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a very trusting road. Not allowing myself to feel eager for more, but to really relish in who / what we have. Again, I have been very blessed with a solid crew of women to start and have enjoyed growing at the pace that is naturally occurring.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Beauty Bar is a collaboration of individual entrepreneurs who share this space to run their own businesses. Every person who leases from the Beauty Bar believes in the power in collaboration while also holding creative control.

We have 5 stylists who offer everything from hair cuts, to coloring services. These women have been in this industry for decades and have built a career from the ground up and are now in a position to really formulate their own brand and business.

We also have an esthetician who offers organic skincare services as well as microdermabrasion, customized facials and sugaring services for hair removal.

Our lash artist is a truly talented women who has been serving the West Hollywood community up until the last year when she decided to call Cave Creek her home. She is incredibly detail oriented and a true artist in this trade.

Our brow artist who offers microblading, micro shading, nano shading and tattoo removal. Her eye for detail and integrity for honesty with each service is by far my favorite quality. Kellee will always make sure that the service you take from her is the right service for you to achieve the looks you desire.

Our Beauty Bar is constantly growing and collaborating and finding new and exciting ways to include the community in our shop.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
It’s been the hardest lesson for me to personally learn but the most rewarding one… stay true to my brand. Meaning, I want to say yes to everyone and everything, however, saying no to protect the integrity of the businesses already associated with the Beauty Bar has been a hard lesson but incredibly rewarding.
