Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Ciotola.
Nina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was working at a job that wasn’t fulfilling and was starting to feel burnt out. I started learning about the gig economy and discussing options with some of my friends in the industry. I sat down with my family and we landed on running a photo booth company!
We started out doing backyard quinceañeras and banquet hall weddings in our first year (2019). We would work a lot of open houses for venues to get our name out there. Now we are booking Super Bowl parties, exclusive weddings, NFL events, influencer socials, festivals, and more!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road that’s for sure. I believe the hardest part of running your own business and providing a service is knowing you’re own value. You want to respect people’s budgets but you also have to respect yourself.
As someone who didn’t know much about running my own business when I started. I realized quickly that I needed to learn as much as I could to be the best I could be for clients and my team! So studying, taking the time to meet with other business owners, and implementing the needed strategies to make a successful company is hard work!

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
Deciding to expand is probably the largest risk we have taken. It’s an investment back into your business. And we got the opportunity to do so after only being in business for 1 year.
So taking the risk to grow our business into a company of booths was quite scary because you’re not sure if you are going to have all of your booths running every weekend. Or if you’re going to make the money back and then some on New gear. Luckily for us, we have accomplished that.
