Hi Melissa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always “beat to my own drum” since I was little. I knew early that I didn’t want a typical corporate job. I thrive in a can-do environment, where I have the freedom to make my own decisions and carve my path in business. I got to where I am by being consistent with clients. It’s how and what you do for your clients and building strong relationships with them. I’ve had long-time clients with whom I have done a handful of deals. In turn, you develop a strong-rooted relationship. However, there’s a lot of thinking outside the box, taking risks to get big rewards, building a network of connections, and paying attention to detail. Also, keeping an open mind and the willingness to learn and grow is crucial

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
It hasn’t always been a super smooth road. Starting any career, even when you’re super passionate, isn’t always easy. It’s a lot about finding the way the business works, finding your footing, and understanding how you want to represent yourself, which takes time. In addition, it’s also about building relationships and creating strong bonds, which doesn’t happen overnight. I would not be where I am if I did everything perfectly. I had many learning experiences and growth from falling and scraping my knees.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
