Hidden Gems: Meet Erica Sanchez of Thrive Business Consulting Group LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Sanchez.

Erica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Erica Sanchez has always been interested in business. From a young age, she’d see her parents work and start to build their own company from the ground up, which would then become a small Tequila business in Guadalajara. Erica’s mother Maria use to work in Avon and selling porcelain dolls door to door, Erica will go with her mom and watched how her mother sell and saw her struggle. Growing up Erica learned that her passion was in business but also serving the community. She combined her interest in business with her lifelong involvement in her community and started building her career by obtaining a bachelor’s in Public Service & Community Solutions in 2015.

Keeping true to her commitment to her community, she became the VP of Business Development and Operations for a networking platform built exclusively for women. After a few years, furthering her education seemed like the perfect next step, so she pursued a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2019. Her community and business interests don’t end there — Erica currently serves as a Business Consultant for RAIL, a non-profit organization, and Hussle Phoenix non-profit hat helps small business owners take their companies to the next level.

Ms. Sanchez has amassed over 15 years of experience in sales, operations, executive leadership, and franchising. Before starting her business, she was an Area Director for Amazing Lash Studios in their franchise division, where she dedicated her time to managing a large territory and helping new franchise owners start their business. In 2020, Erica decided to open her own business, Thrive Profit Engineer, a consulting firm dedicated to helping small business owners grow their brands and net worth. A Phoenix, AZ native, Erica partnered with Franchise Creator to open her second consulting firm in the Phoenix area. Integrating her startup development with one of the leading franchise consulting firms has allowed her to ease into the process, putting the onus of the work onto their incredibly skilled franchising team.

Erica’s focus is to create solutions to common issues in business ownership. She aims to create customized plans for companies to be able to grow or franchise their operations with the least hassle possible. Her firm handles the entire franchise development process, from inception to launch, including all marketing and sales material, as well as lead generation and sales. Small or large businesses, Erica can tackle them all! Strategic development is her forte, and doing business with her means doing business with a knowledgeable individual.”

Today she has helped numerous businesses grow and she continue to serve her community by focusing helping business owners.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Most startups fail in their first year. Most quit within a few months. And many solopreneurs rejoin the corporate world after a year as an entrepreneur. On a brighter note, the ones who manage to navigate those critical first twelve months usually end up pursuing entrepreneurial routes for the rest of their lives. Erica’s case is exactly that, she was able to break in even within 10 months in operations, not to mention she had opened her business few months before we went into Covid lock down. She worked hard her entire 2020 year, and was able to see the ROI 2021. In the first year, when her success isn’t set in stone, she believe that every aspect of our lives should be subordinated to our entrepreneurial venture.

Another big crucial challange was “our financial skills are put to the test” The most common struggles in your first year as an entrepreneur certainly also include financial planning. There is a good chance you’re leaving behind steady paychecks and corporate benefits. Erica’s budgeting skills needed to be on point. Start tracking all her personal and professional expenses. No more unwarranted subscriptions, spontaneous shopping sprees, and excessive delivery bills. The problem with budgeting is that it’s not thought in college. Most of us leave university with a shiny business degree, but no skills in personal finance. A few weeks later, we start working in a cubicle and receive our first salary. The temptation to increase our lifestyle with these newly-found resources is immense. In your first year as an entrepreneur, keeping your finances healthy and organized is indispensable, both for the survival of your business and its long-term growth.
